Kastharni ghat is situated in munger at the bank of holy river ganga, and from this point ganga starts flowing northwards hence called as uttarvahini so from religious prospective its considered secred. Its belived that bathing or worshipining uttarvahini ganga is good and this kastharni ghat is named as its considered as kasto ko harne wali ghat. Hence popularly known as kastharni ghat. Through out the year people visit here to worship, have bath as well as take sacred holy gangajal to there home. During ganga dushehra, chhath puja and other hindu religious festivals its more crowded. Some people visit during evening as well. Ganga Aarti is offered here ocassionally, specially on full moon days. Famous jagannath temple of munger is also situated at this kastharni ghat. Janmastmi and Rath yatra is celebrated here with pomp and show.

Kastaharni Ghat is a ghat on the River Ganges, at Munger in the Indian state of Bihar. One of the most pious ghat of munger. Famous ghaat of Munger. उत्तरवाहिनी गंगा घाट। This ghaat is popular among people for taking baths. Steps are made but when water level is low one has to step into river where surface will not be plain. Spend the evening here watching sunset.
