Such an wonderfull trekking experience. You have to climb 1500 ft to reach the peak of mountain where this fort lies. It took about two hours to reach the peak and again a 1 mile walk to finally reach the rohtash garh fort ,The largest mountain fort of india which is 28 kms in perimetre.there lies a small village in the mountains ,villagers were very much helpfull. It was an exhausting but wonderful experience ,my first such climb .we didn't carry water bottle as we didn't expect such a climb(we thought it would take 5-10 min. To reach the fort but we were wrong😁 . .)you ll get water only when you reach the village .we saw a "well" in the village and people washing clothes And we ran 😁😂...got some water from heartful people ..water....that well water was sweet in taste... . We thought the villagers r not educated ,and were discussing there' how we will survive here, there r no ameneties , no facilities if we r made to live here😵 , u have to travel down the mountain to buy day to day products vegetables ,clothes etc. At this one villager got angry ,said "Insult mt kijiye hamara aplog ,hmlog v yha rh rhe h,a6a " We were shocked😨😨. And backed up by saying that u all r so brave, living here.we were wrong they were educated and no back from city...u ll see no diffrence .so dont u dare say such things there🤐. We started climbing at 11 am. Peak-1.pm We reached fort at 2.pm while returning it was around 3:30 ,the sun was setting and we were totally exhausted and tired, thirsty. So we went to villagers searching for water ,they gave us water to drink bought us some biscuits and guided us . We ate that biscuits sitting on the rocks at the edge of downhill ,watching a great scenary ,a fall of 1500 ft ,greenery, trees ,tiny villages from up,the sone river, the setting sun... that was an unforgettable ,wonderfull experience. We got some energy and we were down the mountain in just abt. 30 minutes.. No! NO! WE didn't jump😂 from there....we stepped down by Running, the slope gave us a push and we were jst going by the flow, eyes on the next stone and run..run..run. because it was getting night and we would not get any vehicle for tilouthu(dehri on sone) where we were residing on rent for 10 days for an exam. This was a little brief ...our experiece😊 .whats urs? 24 december 2017.

Rohtasgarh Fort, located near Sasaram in Bihar, is one of the most impressive and historically significant forts in India. Built on the Kaimur hills at an elevation of around 1500 feet, this fort has an aura of grandeur, history, and mystery. It was originally constructed by Raja Harishchandra in ancient times, though it was extensively fortified and expanded by Sher Shah Suri in the 16th century to protect his empire from attacks. One of the most fascinating aspects of Rohtasgarh Fort is its blend of architectural styles. The fort showcases a combination of Hindu and Afghan architecture, reflecting the cultural diversity and the shifting powers over centuries. Its massive gates, intricate carvings, and robust walls speak to its former glory and the strategic importance it held in medieval India. The Hathiya Pol, or Elephant Gate, is a particularly impressive structure and one of the main highlights of the fort. The fort is surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, with panoramic views of the Kaimur plateau and dense forests that add to its isolated, almost mythical allure. However, reaching the fort is challenging, as it involves a steep trek up the hills, which has contributed to its relatively undisturbed condition. Despite its historical significance and architectural splendor, Rohtasgarh Fort remains less visited compared to other famous forts in India. This could be due to its remote location and the difficult climb, but these factors also give it a sense of serenity and untouched beauty. The fort is somewhat in ruins today, yet the remnants of its past splendor attract history enthusiasts and adventurers alike. In my view, Rohtasgarh Fort is a hidden gem of Indian history, deserving of more attention and preservation efforts. Visiting this fort is like stepping back in time and exploring an era of powerful rulers, strategic battles, and cultural synthesis. For those interested in history, architecture, and nature, Rohtasgarh offers a truly unique and enriching experience.

Rohtas Fort, a resplendent testament to architectural ingenuity and historical significance, stands proudly in northern Pakistan. Constructed by the legendary Afghan ruler Sher Shah Suri in the 16th century, this colossal fortress has withstood the ravages of time and continues to captivate visitors with its grandeur. Nestled amidst the rugged landscape, Rohtas Fort's sheer scale is awe-inspiring. Its massive sandstone walls, stretching over 4 kilometers, encircle a sprawling complex of palaces, barracks, and temples. The fort's layout exhibits a strategic genius, fortified with bastions and gateways that once guarded against invasions. As one enters through the magnificent Sohail Gate, intricate carvings and embellishments reveal the finesse of Mughal architecture. The Haveli of Maan Singh, the palace of the fort's governor, exudes an air of regality, while the awe-inspiring Baoli (stepwell) and Talaqi Gate further showcase the fort's masterful design. Rohtas Fort's historical significance as a military stronghold is palpable. It was built to suppress local tribes and deter potential Mughal attacks. Its history is steeped in legends and tales of bravery. Visitors can almost hear the echoes of past battles and the whispers of centuries-old secrets as they explore the fort's chambers and corridors. The fort's well-preserved condition, despite its age, is a testament to the enduring craftsmanship of its builders. However, like any ancient treasure, Rohtas Fort requires careful preservation and attention to maintain its splendor for future generations. For history enthusiasts and travelers alike, Rohtas Fort offers an enchanting journey into a bygone era, where the melding of architectural brilliance and historical significance create an experience that lingers long after leaving its awe-inspiring walls.
