As the first rays of dawn paint the sky, pilgrims gather on the ghats, the steps leading down to the river. They chant mantras, some dip themselves in the sacred waters seeking purification, while others offer prayers and release floral tributes. The temple comes alive with the murmur of prayers, the clanging of bells, and the melodious hymns sung by priests. Throughout the day, devotees throng the temple for pujas and darshan, seeking blessings from the enshrined deity. The temple walls, adorned with intricate carvings and bathed in the soft glow of oil lamps, resonate with an atmosphere of serenity. Pujari ji conduct rituals, offering prasad, the sanctified food, to the deity. In the evenings, the aarti, a worship ceremony with lamps, creates a mesmerizing spectacle as the flickering flames dance on the river’s surface. The scent of incense fills the air, and the rhythmic chanting of hymns by priests creates a sense of deep peace. Shri Adinath Akhara,[1] is an ashram dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is situated 1.5 km from the Buxar railway station at the confluence of the Ganga (गंगा) and Sone (सोन) canals.

Names

It is also known as Shri Nath Ashram, Charitravan (श्री आदिनाथ आश्रम, श्री नाथ आश्रम, चरित्रवन) or Shri Nath Baba Mandir (श्री नाथ बाबा मंदिर|

Siddhashrm is a very ancient name of Charitravan. It is mentioned as a pilgrimage in ancient Hindu scriptures including Shrimad Valmiki Ramayana, Shiva Purana, Vishnu Purana, Narada Purana and Agni Purana.[citation needed]

Chaurasi (Eighty-four) Navnath Siddhas spent a term of penance there, as authenticated by disc-bearing statues excavated there.

नाथ मंदिर बक्सर नगर की पवित्रता किसी से छुपी नही है। इस नगरी का इतिहास त्रेता युग से भी पुराना रहा है। प्राचीन एवम पौराणिक नगरी होने के वजह से यहां कई धार्मिक स्थल है। इन्ही में से एक है नाथ मंदिर (आदिनाथ अखाड़ा) जो अपनी महिमा के लिए प्रख्यात है।

निर्माण कार्य-- श्री आदिनाथ अखाड़ा को 1964 ई. में स्थापित किया गया था। श्री आदिनाथ पीठाधीश्वर श्री त्रिलोकीनाथ जी महाराज के मार्गदर्शन में इनके अनन्य शिष्यों की सहायता से इसका निर्माण सम्भव हो पाया था।

मंदिर का इतिहास-- मान्यता है कि मंदिर के संस्थापक श्री त्रिलोकीनाथ जी महाराज "श्री नाथ बाबा जी" को बाल्यावस्था में ही यहां अंतर्ध्यान मुद्रा में देखा गया था। वो शिव के अनन्य भक्त थे और गंगा घाट के निकट शिवलिंग की पूजा में उनकी विशेष रुचि थी।

विशेषता-- इस मंदिर की सौंदर्यता एवम माँ गंगे के तट से लगा इस मंदिर के पास स्थित गंगा घाट (नाथ घाट) इसकी प्रसिद्धि को बढ़ाता है। यहाँ आपको सभी बारह ज्योतिर्लिंगों के दर्शन हो जाएंगे जो इस मंदिर को खास बनाता है। इसके साथ ही मंदिर के प्रांगण में माँ दुर्गा, बजरंगबली, आदि शेषनाथ, गुरु गोरखनाथ, माँ गंगे, श्री भैरव नाथ और सूर्यदेव आदि की भी जीवंत मूर्तियां स्थापित की गई है। इस मंदिर के प्रांगण के दक्षिणी छोर पर एक चबूतरे नुमें हिस्से में रामसेतु का पत्थर रखा गया है जो पानी पे तैरता दिखता है और हमेशा से आकर्षण का केंद्र रहा है। आमतौर पर सालोंभर लोग यहां अपने आराध्य के दर्शनार्थ आते हैं पर श्रावण मास में यहां दिनभर श्रद्धालुओं का तांता लगा रहता है। माँ गंगे के तट पर अवस्थित होने के कारण यहाँ का वातावरण खुशनुमा बना रहता है जिससे आसपास के लोग सुबह शाम के वक्त अक्सर भ्रमणार्थ आ जाया करते हैं।

कैसे पहुँचे-- नाथ मंदिर शहर के बीचों बीच स्थित है। बक्सर स्टेशन से इसकी दूरी लगभग 1.5km है। अगर आप स्टेशन से मंदिर जाना चाहते हो तो आपको पहले स्टेशन से पुलिस चौक (वीर कुँवर सिंह चौक) के लिए सवारी गाड़ी लेनी होगी तत्पश्चात आप चौक से पैदल या रिक्शा के माध्यम से मंदिर तक जा सकते है। अगर आप बक्सर-चौसा-सासाराम मार्ग से आ रहे हो तो आपको बक्सर कालेज गेट के पास रुकना होगा और वहां से आप चंद कदम चलके पैदल मंदिर तक आ सकते है।
