Dongargarh Mata Mandir, Chhattisgarh - A Spiritual and Scenic Marvel!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Dongargarh Mata Mandir, nestled atop a picturesque hill in Chhattisgarh, is a destination that blends spirituality with breathtaking natural beauty. My visit to this revered temple was an experience I will cherish forever.

The journey to the temple itself is a spiritual experience. As you ascend the 1000+ steps to the top, you are treated to stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. For those who might find the climb challenging, there's a ropeway service that offers a scenic and convenient alternative, making the temple accessible to devotees of all ages.

The temple, dedicated to Maa Bamleshwari, exudes a divine aura. The peaceful and serene environment inside the temple provides a perfect setting for prayer and meditation. The idol of Maa Bamleshwari is beautifully adorned, and the entire temple complex is well-maintained and clean.

One of the highlights of my visit was witnessing the mesmerizing evening aarti. The devotion and energy of the aarti were truly uplifting and left me feeling spiritually rejuvenated. The view of the sunset from the top of the hill is another unforgettable experience, adding to the temple's charm.

Facilities around the temple are quite satisfactory. There are plenty of shops selling prasad, souvenirs, and refreshments. Additionally, clean restrooms and ample seating areas are available, which enhance the overall comfort of the visit.

While the temple gets quite crowded during festivals, the management does an excellent job of ensuring everything runs smoothly. I recommend visiting early in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the peak rush and to enjoy the tranquility and scenic beauty in a more peaceful setting.

Dongargarh Mata Mandir is not just a place of worship; it's a destination that offers a perfect blend of devotion, natural beauty, and a sense of tranquility. Whether you're a spiritual seeker, a nature lover, or simply looking for a peaceful getaway, this temple has something special to offer.

Highly recommended for anyone visiting...

Bambleshwari Temple is at Dongargarh in rajnandgaon district of CG.. It is on a hilltop of 1600 feet. This temple is referred as Badi Bambleshwari. Another temple at ground level, the Chhotti Bambleshwari is situated about 1/2 km from the main temple complex. These temples are revered by lakhs of people of Chhattisgarh who flock around the shrine during the navratri of Kavar (during dushera) and Chaitra (during Ram navami). There is tradition of lighting Jyoti kalash during Navaratris here.

Dongar means mountains in Marathi while Garh means fort. The legend goes that around 2200 years ago, Raja Veersen, a local king, was childless and upon the suggestions of his royal priests performed puja to the gods. Within a year, the queen gave birth to a son whom they named Madansen. Raja Veersen considered this a blessing of Lord Shiva and Parvati and constructed a temple here.In the temple of Dongargarh, king Vikramaditya went for suicide but Devi Bamleshwari came and stopped him to do this act. For reaching the top, there are total 1000 steps that lead to the temple.

The temple provides the facility of Online Ropeway Ticket Booking and Online Jyoti Kalash Booking.

The town is known for religious Harmony and has considerable population of Buddhists, Sikhs, Christians and Jains apart from Hindus.

On Sundays & holidays, lot of rush is there. Tickets for ropeway are Rs 80 (VIP tks) & Rs 40 for to-and -fro journey each. There are fewer crowds for VIP tks, so fast darshan occurs. Ropeway consists of 3 cabins only & it takes around 10 minutes for the cabin to go up &...

About 2200 years ago, Dongargarh was a fairly renounced territory named Kamavati ruled by Maharaja Veersen. When his Queen gave birth to a son they named him Madansen. 1047 Steps exactly ( I've personally counted every step hence so sure about it as all the other reviews have an approximate count of steps ) very easy to climb & if you do not have any medical illness you can easily complete the hike in mere 30-45 minutes. The history of the Dongargarh Temple is rich with legends and devotion. The temple is dedicated to the goddess Bamleshwari and is considered an important Shaktipeeth. According to legend, the temple was built by King Veersen around 2,200 years ago. The king was childless and performed a puja to Lord Shiva and Bhagwati Durga Maa. After a year, the king and queen were blessed with a son named Madansen.  The king believed this was a blessing from Lord Shiva and Parvati and built the temple. The temple is also associated with a love story between Madhavnal and Kamkanda. The temple has been renovated and modernized over the years to accommodate the growing number of visitors. The temple celebrates several festivals throughout the year, including Navratri, Dussehra, and Diwali. AOI - 1) locals will ask you to park exactly in front of their shops & will ask you to take Prasad etc from them only. It will be a hassle for you to carry Prasad all the way to top with monkeys around trying to snatch it from your hand. I'll advice to take Prasad & other Pooja Saman directly at the top. For Parking - try & park next to a restaurant. 2) Place is usually very crowded and temple management should hire few to arrange crowd in queue.
