Girivilas Palace is situated in Sarangarh, District Sarangarh Bilaigarh. Entry of common man is prohibited here. There is a grand temple of Maa Samleshwari at the main entrance of Giri Vilas Palace, where common people can enter. There is a main door here, from where you will be able to see some part of Giri Vilas Palace from outside but going inside is prohibited. Raja Pushpa Singh still lives here. This palace was built during the time of Raja Jawahar Singh. There are a total of seven storeys in this palace and the tricolor flag and the king's flag were hoisted on the top floor. This palace is surrounded on all sides and there is a mango orchard where a very special and very tasty mango orchard still exists. All the arrangements that used to be there in the palaces in olden times were available here. There used to be a grand library in a part inside the palace where books from all over the world were present. There used to be another moat in front of the palace which also used to have a horse stable attached to it. But today this will not be seen, all have been suppressed due to modernity. Sarangarh used to be a princely state which was merged into India in 1948. Maharaj Jawahir Singh had signed the papers of merger with India. It is also full of many surprises. Many tunnels were found inside this palace but these do not exist today. Don't know why there are so many things but it is not possible to...
