I visited kuleshwar temple during the Rajim kumbh 2020. It was good to see the temple which is very old. What is very beautiful about the temple is that it is situated under a very big and amazing Banyan tree, some of the branches of which is dcenetly down so one can play with the tree (if one is crazy like me :p) As I visited during the Rajim kumbh (which happens every year for a brief time culminating with mahashivartri), the temple was surrounded by all the elements of an Indian Mela; some girl walking on the rope, Naga Babas visiting the place, people selling unique "kand/ jadibuti" etc. And like Ganga Aarti in Varanasi, there was a beautiful setup for an evening aarati around 7:00 p.m. with lingas decorated and lined up at the river edge.

The Kuleshwar Mahadev Temple in Rajim is a hidden gem that embodies the essence of spirituality and architectural beauty. Located on the banks of the Mahanadi River, this ancient temple holds immense religious significance and attracts devotees from far and wide.

As I entered the temple premises, I was immediately struck by the serene and peaceful atmosphere. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, and its architectural design reflects the rich cultural heritage of the region. The intricate carvings on the walls, pillars, and ceilings are a testament to the skilled craftsmanship of the artisans of the bygone era.

One of the highlights of the temple is the grand entrance gate, adorned with ornate sculptures depicting various deities and mythological figures. As I proceeded towards the main shrine, I was greeted by the rhythmic chants and soothing fragrance of incense, creating an aura of devotion and spirituality.

Inside the sanctum sanctorum, the main deity, Lord Shiva, in the form of Kuleshwar Mahadev, is a sight to behold. The idol is beautifully adorned with flowers, garlands, and traditional attire, creating a divine ambiance. The priests perform the rituals with utmost reverence and offer prayers on behalf of the devotees.

What sets the Kuleshwar Mahadev Temple apart is its association with the holy festival of Rajim Kumbh Mela. Every year, this temple serves as one of the prominent sites for the Kumbh Mela, attracting millions of pilgrims who come to seek blessings and take a holy dip in the sacred Mahanadi River.

The temple complex also houses several smaller shrines dedicated to various deities, providing devotees with an opportunity to offer prayers and seek blessings from different forms of the divine. The peaceful surroundings and well-maintained gardens around the temple offer a perfect setting for introspection and meditation.

The temple management deserves appreciation for their efforts in maintaining the cleanliness and sanctity of the premises. The facilities for devotees, including clean restrooms and seating areas, further enhance the overall experience.

In conclusion, a visit to the Kuleshwar Mahadev Temple in Rajim is a spiritually enriching and awe-inspiring experience. The architectural marvel, the divine aura, and the religious significance of the temple make it a must-visit destination for devotees and history enthusiasts alike. I highly recommend taking the time to explore this sacred site and immerse oneself in the divine energy...

Kuleshwar Mahadev Temple, Rajim (Chhattisgarh) is an ancient and famous religious place, which is situated at the Triveni Sangam of Mahanadi, Pairi and Sondhur rivers. It is also called Triveni Sangam Tirtha and is considered to be the Prayagraj of Chhattisgarh. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and the Shivalinga here is considered to be very ancient and worshipable. The architecture of the temple reflects the craftsmanship of ancient times, in which beautiful carvings on stones and amazing artwork of pillars can be seen. Every year on the occasion of Mahashivratri, a huge Rajim Kumbh fair is organized here, in which thousands of devotees come and perform Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva and take holy bath. During this time this place is the center of...
