Local Rajesh Jain says that since childhood he has dreams that his ancestors know this place by the name of Ram Sharma. This waterfall is running on the mercy of Lord Rama. Lord Ram's footsteps in Dharamjaygarh SP Mehra, professor of the district's government college and a historian, says that some time of Shri Ram's exile period was spent here. Because when Ram left Ayodhya for exile, he reached Chandrapur's Mahanadi via Dharamjaygarh Mand river of Raigarh district. Ram waterfall of Bhupdevpur is situated in the meantime.
