Tirathgarh Waterfall is a stunning natural attraction located in the Kanger Valley National Park, near Jagdalpur in the Bastar district of Chhattisgarh. Known for its cascading beauty and serene surroundings, it’s one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region.

Key Highlights: Scenic Beauty: Tirathgarh Waterfall is a multi-tiered waterfall that drops from a height of about 300 feet (91 meters). The cascading water creates a mesmerizing sight, especially during the monsoon season when the waterfall is at its fullest. The lush green surroundings and the natural rock formations add to the scenic charm.

Peaceful Environment: The waterfall is located in a relatively remote area, which means it’s often less crowded compared to other tourist spots. This makes it an ideal destination for those looking to enjoy nature in a tranquil setting.

Adventure and Exploration: The area around Tirathgarh offers opportunities for adventure enthusiasts. There are steps leading down to the base of the waterfall, allowing visitors to get up close to the cascading water. The Kanger Valley National Park itself is a haven for nature lovers, with caves, wildlife, and dense forests to explore.

Cultural Significance: The waterfall is considered sacred by the local tribes, and there’s a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva near the falls. This cultural aspect adds an extra layer of significance to the visit.

Drawbacks: Accessibility: While the waterfall is a beautiful sight, reaching it can be challenging. The road to Tirathgarh is narrow and can be difficult to navigate, especially during the rainy season. Public transport options are limited, so it’s best to visit with a private vehicle.

Lack of Facilities: Being a remote natural site, the area around the waterfall lacks basic amenities such as restaurants or restrooms. Visitors are advised to carry their own food and water.

Safety Concerns: The steps leading down to the waterfall can be slippery, particularly during the monsoon season. Visitors should exercise caution, especially if traveling with children or elderly individuals.

Visitor Experience: Many visitors praise Tirathgarh Waterfall for its untouched natural beauty and the peaceful environment it offers. The experience of walking down to the base of the waterfall and feeling the cool mist is often described as refreshing and rejuvenating. However, visitors should be prepared for the journey and bring necessary supplies due to the limited facilities in the area.

W H I T E W A T E R F A L L.. ..After a check out from Dandami Resort and a lot of fun in Chitrakoot Falls, the Morning Journey started. It takes Approximately One and a Half Hour to reach Tirathgarh Falls from Chitrakoot Falls. Finally we reached our destination, with a very refreshing feeling, as we saw in the middle of the journey, the green bush, large Cedar(Devdaar) trees and a small Ghat section. Really very beautiful and unimaginable. I think Tirathgarh Falls is the cleanest waterfall in India, and may be in the whole world, it’s a Pure WHITE WATER. Falls is very good like milk is flowing from rock. Worth the drive. It was very delightful to see this serene waterfall after seeing a monstrous form of Chitrakoot waterfall. There are so many information, about this waterfall is available on Internet, but I want to Focus about enjoyment of Locomotory disable Persons and Old age Persons, As i am myself. That’s the only thing I had noted, nice about this waterfall is that, you can see it from the top. If you are elderly and have trouble walking, you can get a great view by taking it halfway down the path leading to the waterfall. It’s very easy to get from the parking lot to the top of the viewing area so everybody can enjoy this falls. They have a viewing deck. There are Some More Positive points as, Good parking area. The park is well maintained. You can also picnic here (Picnic table and shelter, perfect for lunch outside!), But monkeys surround you from all sides. There are stairs for lower deck viewing as well. Perfect place for couples or the entire family! The trail is very well marked and easy to navigate! The large viewing platform is excellent. The thing that makes this good for a family of all ages, if you or somebody in your family is handicap or elderly, he also enjoy the Beautiful scenery and feel the nature. If you are a nature lover, you will practically stop breathing after seeing this waterfall. Also, there was an amazing overlook on the way. So picturesque! If waterfalls had red carpet events, the majestic Tirathgarh Waterfall in Chhattisgarh would be the dazzling star! Nestled in the Kanger Valley National Park, this beauty is not just a waterfall — it's a stunning multi-tiered cascade that puts on a splashing, magical performance. Standing tall at 300 feet, it’s like nature’s own version of a dramatic action movie — water falling, rocks crashing, mist swirling, and you, a mere spectator, awestruck. The Visuals – Prepare to Be Dazzled! Approaching the waterfall is like walking into a live action sequence — the thundering sound of cascading water fills the air as you get closer, and suddenly, bam! There it is in all its glory. The water falls from three levels, creating a picturesque scene that looks like it belongs in a fantasy movie. The surrounding greenery makes this a perfect spot for a fairy-tale romance (or at least for Instagram photos that will have your followers swooning). Fun Facts That’ll Wow Your Friends! 1. Not just a pretty face: Tirathgarh is locatd in the Kanger Valley National Park, a hotbed for flora, fauna, and some seriously stunning views. If you're lucky, you might spot the elusive Indian Wolf or a few barking deer nearby! 2. The waterfall is also believed to have spiritual significance — local folklore links it to Lord Shiva. Some say if you visit on the right day, you might just hear the waterfall whispering ancient tales. (Ok, maybe that’s a stretch, but we like to dream!) 3. Seasonal beauty: While the waterfall is beautiful year-round, it’s particularly spectacular during the monsoon (June-September) when the water swells to its full majestic glory. The Verdict – Waterfalls with Drama Tirathgarh is a cinematic, natural wonder that packs in beauty, adventure, and a hint of spiritual charm. If you ever find yourself in Chhattisgarh, don’t just stand there looking at the water — get in, feel the mist, and let it work its magic!
