Satmaliya Deer Park is a hidden gem for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers. Located a short drive away from the main city, the park provides a serene escape into the wilderness, making it a perfect spot for a peaceful yet exciting day out. However, visitors should note that the park remains closed on Mondays, so planning ahead is essential. The lush greenery surrounding the park adds to its charm, creating a natural habitat where deer roam freely, making it an excellent destination for families, photographers, and anyone looking to experience wildlife up close.

The entry ticket is reasonably priced at around INR 150 per person, which includes a guided bus tour inside the park. The bus ride is the only way to explore the area, as walking inside is not permitted. The vehicle is open-sided, allowing for a better view of the animals, but the number of window seats is limited. It is highly recommended to board early and grab a good spot to enjoy the best views. The journey through the park is well-organized, with stops at key locations where herds of deer are commonly found. The guide provides useful insights about the different species, making the experience both informative and engaging.

Once inside, visitors are greeted with the incredible sight of numerous deer of various species. The park is home to an impressive collection, ranging from spotted deer (chital) to majestic antelopes with large, curved horns. Some of the deer appear quite curious, often gazing at the passing bus, while others remain focused on their meals, calmly chewing on grass and leaves. The sight of an entire herd resting or grazing together is truly mesmerizing. The park’s natural setting, with its vast open spaces and dense vegetation, ensures that the deer are comfortable and not confined to artificial enclosures, allowing for a more authentic wildlife experience.

The entire tour lasts around 20–25 minutes, but every second is worth it. It's rare to witness such a large number of deer in one place, making it a memorable outing. Children, in particular, will love the experience of seeing these gentle creatures up close, making it an ideal destination for a family trip. The park’s well-maintained environment, combined with the thrilling bus ride and the close encounters with wildlife, make it a must-visit attraction. If you're in Silvassa, don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to connect with nature and enjoy a delightful...

Satmaliya Wildlife Sanctuary, also known as Satmaliya Deer Park, is a tranquil haven for nature enthusiasts situated near Khanvel in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. Spanning approximately 153 hectares, the sanctuary is home to a diverse array of antelope species, including Chital, Nilgai, Sambar, Chinkara, and Blackbuck. (Vushii)

Visitors can observe these graceful animals roaming freely in their natural habitat. The park also features a machan (watchtower) near a waterhole, offering panoramic views of the sanctuary and the nearby Madhuban Dam. Birdwatchers will appreciate the variety of avian species present, such as peacocks, flameback woodpeckers, and thrushes.(Vushii, Dadra and Nagar Haveli)

The sanctuary operates daily from 7:15 AM to 5:00 PM. An entry fee of Rs. 25 is charged for Indian nationals and Rs. 100 for foreign nationals. Early morning visits are recommended, as animals are more active during cooler hours. Visitors should note that there are no food stalls within or around the park, so carrying personal refreshments is advisable. (Mappls, Vushii, www.touristplaces.net.in, The India)

Located approximately 12 km south of Silvassa, the sanctuary is accessible by road, with the nearest railway station in Vapi and the closest airports in Surat and Mumbai. Satmaliya Wildlife Sanctuary offers a serene escape into nature, providing an enriching experience for families, wildlife enthusiasts, and photographers alike.(Dadra and Nagar Haveli,...

A Peaceful Escape at Satmaliya Deer Park

Satmaliya Deer Park, located near Silvassa, is a serene and well-maintained sanctuary that offers a unique opportunity to witness wildlife in their natural habitat. My recent visit to this park was truly enjoyable and memorable.

The highlight, of course, is the graceful deer roaming freely across the sprawling landscape. It was a delight to see them up close, especially in the early morning or late afternoon when they are most active. The park is also home to various bird species, making it a great spot for birdwatchers.

The surroundings are lush and green, offering a calming environment. Walking through the park is refreshing, and the well-laid pathways make it accessible for people of all ages. There are also viewing towers that provide a better vantage point to observe the deer and the scenic beauty of the park.

The staff were friendly and helpful, ensuring visitors have a pleasant experience. The park is clean and not overly crowded, which adds to its charm.

If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat into nature or a chance to see wildlife up close, Satmaliya Deer Park is a must-visit. It’s a perfect getaway for families, nature lovers, and anyone seeking tranquility away from the hustle...

Deer Park is a beautiful and tranquil natural area that is perfect for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. As a nature enthusiast, I recently visited Deer Park and was blown away by its natural beauty, serenity, and abundance of wildlife. The park is well-maintained and offers a variety of walking trails that wind through dense forest, open meadows, and along babbling streams. The trails are well-marked and easy to navigate, making it a great destination for hikers of all skill levels. One of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to observe the park's resident deer population up close. These graceful creatures are a true delight to watch as they graze on the park's verdant vegetation or bound effortlessly through the woods. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to Deer Park for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat in the heart of nature. The park's beautiful scenery, abundant wildlife, and well-maintained trails make it a must-visit destination for nature lovers of all ages. Due to some uncertainty I lost my pics of park.
