मेहकर हा भारताच्या महाराष्ट्र राज्यातील बुलढाणा जिल्ह्याचा एक तालुका आहे. मेहकर तालुक्यातून जगातील नदी पैनगंगा वाहते.मेहकरचे जागतीक भूषण मेहकरच्या तीन गोष्टी जागतीक दर्जाची भूषणास्पद आहेत.(१) येथील बालाजींची मूर्ती. (२) जगप्रसिध्द एकादश नरसिंहातील सहावा नरसिंह व मंदिर येथे आहे।.(३) संतश्री बाळाभाऊ महाराज पितळे, ज्यांचा शिष्य वर्ग भारत व भारताबाहेर पसरलेला असून त्यांचे चरित्र दिव्य व बोधप्रद आहे.

मेहकर तालुक्यात चैत्र, श्रावण, भाद्रपद व मार्गशीर्ष या महिन्यांमध्ये विविध उत्सव साजरे केले जातात. तालुक्यात असलेल्या एका गढीचे खोदकाम सुरू असताना १८८८ मध्ये येथे बालाजीची मूर्ती सापडली. अखंड शिळेत अत्यंत कलाकुसरीने कोरलली ही रेखीव मूर्ती पाहून तत्कालीन इंग्रज जिल्हाधिकारी टेंपल यांनी ही मूर्ती लंडनला नेण्याचे ठरवले परंतु, परिसरातील लोकांचा विरोध पाहून त्याने निर्णय बदलला पण, मूर्तीसोबत सापडलेले तांबे, पितळ, सोने या धातूंत कोरलेले शिलालेख व जडजवाहीर मात्र हा इंग्रज अधिकारी सोबत घेऊन गेला, असा उल्लेख जुन्या कागदपत्रांमध्ये आहे, असे म्हणतात. १८९२ मध्ये बालाजी मंदिराचा गाभारा व तीर्थ मंडपाचे काम झाले. कालांतराने मंदिराचे...
