🌧️ Why Monsoon Makes Punit Van Shine With the southwest monsoon arriving in mid-June, Gandhinagar transforms into a lush oasis—its 54% green cover coming to life with vibrant foliage and rain-washed pathways Visitors frequently remark that “it feels like a hill station in monsoon”, with fresh air, glossy leaves, and dancing peacocks adding to the charm The lotus pond and fountains look especially enchanting, reflecting misty skies and creating that perfect rainy-day ambiance. 🌿 Greenery & Themed Gardens Spread across several acres, Punit Van was developed in 2005 by the Gujarat Forest Department. Around 3,500 trees are planted and themed around Nakshatras (stars), Rashi (zodiac), Navagraha (planets), and Panchvati sections—each offering both botanical insight and serenity Google reviewers describe it as a blend of forest and garden—“like a mini jungle” with walking trails, dense greenery, and abundant birdlife 🐦 Wildlife & Birding The park is a birder’s delight, home to peacocks, parrots, squirrels, and approximately 40 species of birds, including some migratory ones during certain months In monsoon, you’re likely to see peacocks dancing and hear their calls amid the wet greenery—a sight many visitors cherish . 🏃‍♀️ Trails & Amenities Two well-paved tracks cater to walkers and joggers (the main track is ~1.3 km), plus soft-surface periphery trails—ideal for those wanting a gentle run or stroll However, monsoon brings mosquitoes—some spot reviews advise precaution and mention areas needing better maintenance . ⏰ When & How to Visit Best times: Early mornings and early evenings during monsoon offer a serene and fresh experience, while the golden hours add a dreamy quality .

Entry: Free access with free parking. Opening times are generally early morning to evening; some visitors have noted the park is especially active before 11 AM and after 6 PM .

Rules: Food and drinks inside are typically prohibited to safeguard the...

We visited with our family, including children, and everyone had an amazing time. The garden is perfect for a family picnic or even a school outing. With its well-maintained walking and jogging tracks, it caters to both fitness enthusiasts and those looking to enjoy a leisurely stroll. The children’s play area is fantastic, equipped with both regular and special equipment, ensuring that kids of all ages have something to enjoy. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the peacocks. We were thrilled to see around four of these beautiful birds up close. Their spotless beauty was mesmerizing, and we took countless pictures, making it a truly unforgettable experience. The park is open from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM and then again from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM, making it accessible for both early birds and evening visitors. While our visit was wonderful, one suggestion would be to add more maps and signage around the area to help new visitors navigate the park more easily.Overall, Punit Van is a must-visit for anyone in Gandhinagar. It’s a perfect spot to spend quality time with family and especially young ones. Don’t miss out on the chance to enjoy this...
