Amthane Dam — Attraction in Goa

Not much to see if you are looking for any visual impact.

The idea is to be in the middle of a serene and calm location. Without anyone around. The drive there itself is through beautiful roads. Great to take a bike.

Best Time: In the monsoon season, the whole place is bathed in green and standing under an umbrella while it drizzles around you, had to be one of the most awesome moments.

Worst Time: Peak summers. The water level is low and it gets pretty warm and humid.

Please avoid littering the place. It's a fresh water area, and the water is potable.

Warning: Don't enter the water in any season. There is a big board warning of crocodiles in the area and there have been good lot sighted. They have never attacked humans, but you don't want to be the first one. So stay away from the...

Amthane dam is picturesque and now there is a road made on top to cross over to the other side. The road looks appealing. It's a bad idea to go to the water bank since there are reports of crocodile or alligator sightings and at least one attack.There is a board set up to that effect by the Department.It's a bad idea to spend time on the water catchment site of the dam and definitely not safe whether during summer or rainy season.
