Our two families, comprising six members, embarked on a journey to a this waterfall, conveniently located close to the highway. Google Maps guided us to the spot, where we found a suitable parking area. Initially, our excitement was dampened by the sight of a dilapidated building, once an eatery, near the entrance. The absence of signboards and the lack of direction led us to rely on the sound of the waterfall to guide us. As we made our way down the series of steps, we were disheartened by the plethora of plastic waste, including cups and chip packets, that littered the path and even polluted the water. Despite the neglect, the waterfall itself was a breathtaking sight, its beauty marred only by the surrounding filth. We had brought our own food and, after clearing a small area near the entrance, created a makeshift eating space. Mindful of our impact, we brought a trash bag and collected our waste, ensuring we left the place in the same condition as we found it, if not better. Read moreKesarval Spring (also known as Verna Waterfall) is truly a hidden gem in Goa. Away from the crowd and noise, it is a very silent and peaceful spot surrounded by nature, perfect for those who want to enjoy some calm time in a beautiful setting. The water stream and greenery make it a refreshing escape.
However, during my visit I noticed something very concerning. There were broken glass bottle pieces in the water, which makes it unsafe, especially for children. This is not only dangerous but also spoils the natural beauty of this place.
I kindly request tourists who visit this waterfall: please do not carry alcohol to this spot and throw bottles in the water. Goa has plenty of places to enjoy drinks, but this waterfall is a natural treasure that should be respected and preserved.
If we continue to misuse such places, we will lose their beauty and safety. Let’s keep nature clean so that everyone, including the next generation, can enjoy it.
Overall, the waterfall is very beautiful and worth visiting if you are looking for peace and natural beauty—just be cautious about safety and please help in keeping the...
Read moreThe beautiful Kesarval falls have a lot more going for them than the magnificence and awe of just another waterfall. These falls, sometimes also known as Kesarval Springs are renowned for their medicinal properties. The waters are purported to heal ailments of the body and to have rejuvenating properties.
The minerals in the water come from the hard rock face that it pounds through. The springs are accounted to be a great natural spa.
Where to Go The Kesarval Spring is located near the village of Cortalim just off the Verna plateau. On the Southern banks of the Zuari, this medicinal water fall is 22km away from the capital city of Panaji.
When to Go The waterfall is at its zenith during the monsoon season when the abundant rains fill it to its gushing peak and it overflows into the lake below. This is not always the best time to take a dip however, as it can be dangerous and slippery. However the Kesarval falls are a popular tourist attraction from the month of July till March, when the onset of summer slows the water down to a...
