One of the most Sacred, Holy and Beautiful place in the State. A place of Goddess Mahalasa is like a Heaven on the earth, located at Verna Goa.

This place is recently developed by GSIDC ,Goa. Temple structure is designed very creatively and beautifully. Which stands at main attraction for the public. A huge structure with multiple Kalash placed perfectly on the top of every Garbhkud. Catches the eyes of the viewer. Rounded like domes are another attraction.

Interior is huge and wonderful. Architecture is beautiful and enticing. Being spacious , it remains cool and peaceful inside. Some from the inside is Mesmerising and unique among the other temple structures in the state.

Goddess idol Mahalasa Narayani is made of Black stone which is very charming and lovely.

Devotees visiting here can feel the presence of God and make themself calm. A Miracleous place where one can sit quietly and do meditation for sometime.

There is also other idols of God and goddesses. Goddess Sharada, Adi Shankaracharya, Bhairav, are to name few.

Surrounding is created beautifully , a big beautiful Stambh, in front of temple (left side of goddess), a wonderful Garden consist of Ashwat Trees. Flower plants , grass and other. Temple Tali is also very beautiful. There is also primary school. Higher secondary inside the temple campus. A hall where statue of Swami Vivekananda is placed is very peaceful and generates positive and good spirited thoughts.

There is also Havan Kaksh, Halls , canteen for the purpose of serving devotees and conducting or celebrating various festivals and rituals.

A Big huge land of Goddess Mahalasa Narayani which every one must see atleast once is a life time and surrender themself to God.

Do visit, get Blessed and feel the presence of Goddess, and try to practice Medition for sometime to make your Heart calm and Merciful.

Be happy and Successful.

Keep Goa...

Shri Mahalasa Narayani Temple - Kuladevi for me - This is the original location of the temple, dating back to several centuries ago. Goa has seen conversion of artisan classes to Christianity during Portuguese rule and destruction of temples by Muslim and Portuguese monarchs, only some temples have managed to endure. The flight of deities in Goan temples during the 16th century due to Portuguese destruction is a significant historical event that resonates through time impacting nearly fifty temples in the 18th-century expansion of Portuguese territory in Goa. The Mahalasa Narayani Temple in Salcete is supposedly one of them, I think. To safeguard these revered idols, devoted individuals from various backgrounds, including Mahajans and Kharvis, undertook daring missions under the cloak of darkness to shift the deities to safer havens across the river, preserving their cultural and religious heritage at significant personal risk. (Source -Article named "Revival of Goan Temples through the Flight of Deities: An Historical Exploration, Dr. Devanand Mandrekar" as read on the internet.

The Shri Mahalasa Narayani temple presently in Mardol, is perhaps where the deity was restored after the Verna temples desecration.

I am expecting some more information and will update this...

I recently visited Shri Mahalasa Narayani Devalaya in Verna, Goa. It was a truly peaceful experience. The temple has a calm and serene atmosphere, making it a great place to sit, meditate, and reflect. Dedicated to Goddess Mahalasa Narayani, the temple gives off positive energy, and you can feel the divine presence as soon as you step inside.

The architecture is beautiful. It features intricate carvings and traditional Goan design elements that add to its spiritual charm. The idol of Goddess Mahalasa Narayani is stunning, and the rituals performed here are filled with devotion, which enhances the temple's peaceful ambiance. The temple is surrounded by lush greenery, which adds to the calming environment.

What really stood out to me was the peaceful energy and positive vibes throughout the temple. It’s not too crowded, so visitors can take their time to meditate or simply enjoy the tranquility. The priests are kind and welcoming, creating a warm atmosphere for everyone who visits.

If you're in Verna and looking for a place to connect with the divine, I highly recommend visiting Shri Mahalasa Narayani Devalaya. It’s a hidden gem that offers a peaceful space to relax, meditate, and experience the...

Mahalasa is the Mohini avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu. She is also known as Mhalshi and Mahalasa. In Newasa, Goa and elsewhere, Mahalasa is considered as the Mohini form of Lord Vishnu and hence she is referred to as “Mahalasa Narayani”. The deity, it may particularly be noted, also wears the holy thread, which is its unique feature. This holy thread is only worn by Brahmin men and also the male gods. It was time for me to visit the Mahalasa temple at Verna, which has been recently rebuilt at the very place it was first located. Verna today is the industrial district of Goa, full of factories and big offices. In fact, when I moved to Goa, this is where my office was located, not too far from the temple. It took me seven years before I could visit the temple. As they say, you can visit Devi temples only when She wants you to visit her. Located at a foothill, it is probably one of the biggest temples in Goa. The temple tank is also the biggest I have seen in Goa. It looks beautiful with clean laterite stone. A circular well is located at one corner of the tank. It was so clean that I thought it has been built new with the temple, but I was told it is the old and original tank of the temple.

Goa is famous for tourism and various temples of various Hindu Deities. Speciality of Goa Temples is total cleanliness and pure holiness. You will also not find any beggar outside any temple like other places in Maharashtra. Verna is a major Industrial Area in Goa. Shri Devi Mahalsa Temple is an old temple there. I understood that It's the place of origin of Devi Mahalsa. Couldn't check whether it is true or false but the temple is well renovated and maintained. Area of this temple is also huge like other temples at Goa. During the Portuguese era idol of Devi Mahalsa was shifted to Mhaddol Area where today we can take darshan of Devi Mahalsa. In fact today, Mhaddol Temple is like the main temple of Devi Mahalsa. This Verna temple is also duly renovated but it still has preserved it's own old charm and surrounding. There are other small temples in the vicinity of this temple. Entry is restricted to those who wear shorts, bermudas, mini skirts and or other similar outfits. This rule is almost everywhere in all the temples at Goa. You must visit this temple if you are at Goa and if you love visiting temples.
