A Must-Visit Wildlife Experience with Friends and Family – Proud Gem of Gujarat Tourism
Ambardi Safari Park is truly one of the hidden gems of Gujarat Tourism, and a perfect destination for a day trip with friends and family. Located near Dhari in Amreli district, the park offers a well-maintained, safe, and thrilling safari experience that brings you up close with nature and wildlife.
We visited over the weekend and were pleasantly surprised by how well-organized everything was. The safari ride took us through natural terrain where we got to see Asiatic lions in their semi-natural habitat — resting, walking, and even making eye contact from a distance! Apart from lions, we saw several spotted deer, nilgai, and other native species roaming freely in the forested enclosure.
The staff and guides were polite and knowledgeable. They explained the behavior, habitat, and conservation efforts around these animals, making the experience both educational and exciting — especially for children. Safety protocols were followed throughout the ride.
The park itself is clean, green, and surrounded by the beautiful Gir forest landscape. There are also basic facilities available such as restrooms, a small café, and seating areas to relax after the safari. It’s a great place to connect with nature and enjoy some quiet moments away from city noise.
Kudos to Gujarat Tourism and the Forest Department for preserving such a wonderful spot and making it accessible to the public. Whether you're a wildlife enthusiast, a photography lover, or just someone looking for a peaceful yet adventurous outing, Ambardi Safari Park is absolutely worth the visit.
Tip: Book your safari slots in advance during weekends or holidays as it gets crowded. Early mornings are the best time for lion...

Read moreI recently visited Ambardi Safari Park near Dhari, Gujarat, and it was an incredible experience! The park is well-maintained and offers a unique opportunity to see Asiatic lions in their natural habitat. Here's a detailed review of my visit:
Parking and Fees: The park has ample parking space, which is a big plus. The parking area is well-organized and close to the entrance, making it convenient for visitors. The entry fee is quite reasonable, considering the experience it offers. For adults, the fee is around ₹200, and for children, it's ₹100. They also offer a discounted rate for students and senior citizens.
What to Watch: The main attraction, of course, is the Asiatic lions. We were lucky enough to see a pride of lions lounging in the shade. Besides lions, the park is home to Indian leopards, chinkaras, blue bulls, spotted deer, Indian porcupines, and monitor lizards. Bird watchers will also enjoy spotting various bird species. The landscape is beautiful, resembling a savannah, which adds to the overall experience.
Amenities: The park offers several amenities to ensure a comfortable visit. There are clean restrooms and drinking water facilities available. The safari tours are conducted in non-AC buses, which are well-maintained and provide a good view of the wildlife. The guides are knowledgeable and provide interesting insights about the animals and the park's conservation efforts. There's also a small cafeteria where you can grab a quick snack or a cold drink.
Overall, Ambardi Safari Park is a must-visit for wildlife enthusiasts and families looking for an educational and enjoyable outing. Just remember, the park is closed on Tuesdays, so plan your visit accordingly!
