It was my first rafting experience and I enjoyed it. I pre booked my rafting date and time slot on website.
Notes for packing bag before you depart: Pack extra pair of clothes. Plan to wear shoes for comfortable walk, as you have to walk mid way of rafting. For girls don't wear hills there. Don't carry valuables(jewellery, watch, mobile, etc) to rafting. Carry a big polythene bag to bring your wet clothes back. Experience : my wife lost one earring, really fill uncomfortable in her hills and we have no polythene bag to carry our wet clothes.😓
Experience pre rafting : you asked to fill a declaration form in which they written you have understood all risks and you are responsible if any mishapped done. If you have planned special clothes for this experience, just change at common toilet at front of shrestha bharat bhavan parking. In return you can change back there. A locker service provided near toilet where you can put your bags. Then they carry you to the starting point of rafting. They will tell you how to wear helmet and jacket. They will tell you how to hold paddle(specially safe hold) and how to paddle. They will tell you how to get on boat, sides of boat, where to sit on boat, your leg places and where to hold for balance. They teach you commands of paddling(forward/reverse/stop), sit inside and back position. They inform how to just stay on water in case you fall in the river, how they help you after fall and during their help what to do and dont's.
Experience of rafting : Just follow every rule of guide and you will be inside boat till rafting completes. During rapid(fast flow of water due to sudden downstream of river base, a fast-flowing and turbulent part of the course of a river.) you feel adrenaline rush and enjoy the action. During peaceful flow of water enjoy surroundings. Have to help carry boat twice, once in the middle section of river to avoid dangerous rapid and at finish point from river to road.
Post rafting experience : I paddled in over excitement, result body/muscles pain for three days. Is it worth it, hell yeah. it is worth for every...
Read moreMy experience of this adventure was beyond my expectations. I adventured more than I wanted to adventure 😉. Let me tell you how! Khalwani river rafting is graded as Class III+ which makes it quite a thrill. We started from Ahmedabad to Ektanagar at 6 am and took our breakfast at “Girnar” on our way to Ekta Nagar. For the big-time foodies that we were, we lost track of time and reached later than our ticket time slot. They settled us in for the next slot which was at 1pm. The guides are basically from Rishikesh and it was not difficult to make that out, from the way they coached us for the thrill. We were first trained with instructions as to what to do if you fall off and all the other commands to follow while rafting. Make sure you understand all the instructions well when you reach here. The first rapid will drench you in, giving you the “Har Har Narmade” experience.🌊 The waters are shallow. Our guide was “AB” the captain of our ship. (Salute)🫡 At the second ‘Rapid’ I fell in the river (as I did not duck in the raft on time). I followed the instruction given, to be calm, and lie on the back and float facing the sky. I was calm initially but just then the second and third ‘Rapid’ hit and I went into the water again and then again. For a few seconds I disappeared and then again came back to the surface. But by now I had lost my nerve. To the rescue was the “Hero” of the scene -Rajeev Singh ji, on the kayak.🛶 He positioned the kayak towards me and I was asked to hold the handle and take the position as was coached initially. Just while I had almost got my grip with the kayak, the fourth ‘Rapid’ hit and I had the adventure of my lifetime. Even though I lost the grip with my legs I was strongly holding the kayak and thankfully did not loose myself again. The path beyond these four strategic thrilling ‘Rapids’ is calmer. Enjoy the waters as you sail through. AB ji had a Go-Pro and we had our big adventure captured. Thank you So much to the whole team. We had a great Experience rafting with you. Rajeev Ji, tussi great Ho ! Five stars...
Read moreThis attraction at the statue of unity is just jaw dropping! It's a must in your itinerary. I would highly recommend this attraction over others if you are a family with all adult members or a couple or even a group of friends! Just remember this is not for kids. The river rafting is beginner friendly, the first rapid would be scary for people who are doing it for the first time but it sets the course for fun that you're going to have in the next 25-30 minutes. The guides are skilled they take all the people in one entire batch with approximately 5-6 rafts having 6-8 people per raft, highly recommend booking your slot in advance. First of all you need to arrive at the registration desk 30 mins before, you will need to board the bus and tell them you're going for river rafting they will drop you accordingly near shrestha Bharat bhavan and you need to then fill your form and change your clothes and get ready for fun! Soon when your time is about to come they will call you and you need to go in their car which will take you to the starting point of the rafting. Once you reach you'll be briefed about the commands and instructions that you need to follow throughout. Then you get your safety gears on mainly life jacket and helmet then you'll practice the 5 main commands with your guide and with the paddle of course! Then once the guide feels the group is ready you board your raft and you're ready to go! Then finally! The moment of truth, you're set for a thrilling adventure in between the rapids, this experience cannot be expressed in words! Sadly nothing lasts forever and this experience also will come to an end but not to worry the skilled guide of yours will have a gopro camera attached to their helmet who will be recording everything from the very start the footage of which you can collect it from them they do charge a fee for the same. We got our video and photos from them and trust me you don't wanna miss out on the fun you had and cherish the memories you made and keep it...
