Kuber Bhandari Temple, nestled on the banks of the Narmada near Karnali village, is a 2,500-year-old shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, revered as the divine treasurer Kubera. The peaceful riverside setting, accessible via a ₹20 50 for both sideboat ride or by road, and early morning aarti around 7 AM and evening aarti around 7 PM, create a deeply spiritual ambience. Devotees flock here on auspicious days Amavasya, Shivaratri, Dhanteras, and Purnima to perform rituals and seek blessings for wealth, prosperity, and progeny. Anecdotes say those with snake curses or childlessness gain relief through sincere worship. The temple complex includes multiple shrines and a cave with additional idols, and complimentary prasadam and parking are provided . Reviewers describe the site as serene and family-friendly, with pleasant river baths and shaded areas—ideal for a day trip. However, with over 100 steps to climb and limited food nearby, visitors should plan accordingly. Overall, Kuber Bhandari is a spiritually enriching and quaint pilgrimage spot.

Kuber Bhandari Temple is believed to date back nearly 2,500 years (Treta Yuga), honoring Lord Shiva who assumed the form of Kuber—or “Kuber Bhandari” The temple is managed by Shree Kubereshwar Sansthan, which provides extensive facilities such as a dharmashala with dormitories, free meals (annakshetra), secure parking, yagna halls, and clean public toilets . Darshan timings are from early morning (~5:30 AM) to evening (~7:30 PM) on regular days, extending overnight on Amavasya; waiting time is typically 30–60 minutes, with lighter crowds if you visit early morning or evening The temple sits right on the banks of the Narmada River. Pilgrims often reach it via boat ride from Chandod or Poicha, across the Narmada — a serene approach that adds to the spiritual experience.

Kuber Bhandari is one of its kind of temple in India. Kuber temples are very rare. This is situated on the bank of river. Temple is not that big but is beautiful and mainly people has lot of faith in it. Have uploaded a photo which describes in details of God Kuber and their ancestors. Dharamshala and food availability need to be improved. We reached at 2.30 but since could not location good food we had to travel to Swaminarayan temple in haste where the food is awesome. It's good to go to Swami Narayan temple. Else you will have to travel for 14 kms through village areas which will take atleast 35 minutes..May by that is the boating guys have associate and they charge around 200 Rs (round trip) for just 3 minute boat ride..you cannot take single trip.

Kuber Bhandari Temple, located near the banks of the Narmada River close to Karnali in Gujarat, is one of the most revered spiritual destinations in the region. Dedicated to Lord Kuber, the deity of wealth, and Lord Shiva, this temple holds immense religious significance and attracts thousands of devotees every year. The journey to the temple itself is memorable — surrounded by scenic landscapes, flowing river water and lush greenery, it feels like a retreat away from the bustle of daily life.

The sight of the Narmada River flowing below, combined with the serene environment, makes the visit not just spiritual but also scenic. Facilities such as clean drinking water, resting spots, and small shops for offerings are available, though they can be improved further during peak seasons.

Paulatsya, the son of Prajapita Brahmaji and his son Vishrava had two wives, among them (1) Idvida, daughter of Bharaj Muni and (2) Kaiksi, daughter of Sumali Rakshasa. Itavita's son Kuber (Vaishravana) who was the eldest son was enthroned by Dadaji Pilatsya and entrusted with the responsibility of the kingdom. That step brother Ravana did not like. Believing that an injustice has been done, he chanted penance in the forest. Shivaji was pleased and gave the boon. So Ravana defeated Kubera and took away all his wealth. Devarshi Narada asked Kubera to go to Karbali Tirtha and do penance. Kuber pleased Shivaji there. Shivaji said to give him the demand and Bholanath himself gave all the wealth of heaven and made Kubera the treasurer of the gods. So called Kuber Bhandari. Ravana was very sad and took Pushpaka Vimana Hari and fell behind Kubera. So Kubera again begged Bholanath to save himself. Bholanath said: Both of you are my devotees. So worship Ambaji. Kaber pleased Ambaji and secured the protection of this shrine from Ravana. Thus, with the unique grace of Lord Shivaji and Maa Jagdamba, even today here five Amas sattvicka, with determination and unwavering faith fulfills the longed-for wishes of the devotee such as procreation of children, acquisition of wealth, destruction of fear-heat-sorrow etc. || Jai...
