The Tara Mandir is one of the main attractions of Porbandar. Near to bharat mandir and Gayatri Mandir. It built by the donation of Shri Nanjibhai. This is not temple but a Planetarium It is also one among the first two planetariums in India that were started by Shri Jawaharlal Nehru.
Tara Mandir has an overhead round screen with celestial bodies made on it. Here, the stars and planets are projected with special effects and explained in detail. I went from Rajkot to Here & enjoyed visiting porbandar but the natives here were much excited for me to show this Taramandal show. But unfortunately the show got cancelled just because they can't sold 25 tickets of the singal show! Moreover they have set ticket counter far away from the actual show place. It's an recommendation that visit this place only on holidays and muct purchas the tickets from the front of the museum. Else...
