Read moreYou can fly yo Rajkot or Jamnagar and then travel to Junagadh by road (about 4 hours journey with way.) We took the Veraval Express from Bandra Terminus Mumbai straight to Junagadh. Travelled by 3rd AC on the way and 2nd AC on the way back. The train is a slow option and takes about 16 hours to reach Junagadh. AC passengers still not getting the bedding and blanket in this train yet post lockdown. Also carry your own food, or be prepared to get down at Valsad, Surat, Rajkot, Ahmedabad to get food. Usually the halt is only for a few minutes. You do get hawkers in the train though, so you can buy water, drinks and local food. But again carry your food if you have exact mealtimes. Finally, there is basic cleanliness in 3rd AC. 2nd AC is a little lore clean. But washrooms remain less than clean. So females can carry a pee buddy or toilet paper if required. Also we didn't get the subsidised tickets for senior citizens yet. Maybe they'll restart those in sometime. Okay onto Junagadh, reached at 5.30 AM. From Junagadh to Girnar hill, it's a 15-20 minutes ride. The rickshaw costs 15-30 Rs. Per person. Since we booked the whole thing we paid 150 Rs. one way. We were dropped at the Udan Khatola starting point beneath the hill. You've the pay 700 Rs per person for a round trip on the trolley. You can book trolley tickets online or in person. If you're visiting on holidays or religious days, maybe book the ticker online and go so you don't have to wait in the line. A note in the Udan Khatola trolley service- beautifully maintained, well kept and super patient and helpful staff. It takes about 8 minutes to reach the top in the trolley. Otherwise you'll need to climb the 5000 steps to reach the Ambaji mandir. Once you disembark, you'll have to climb a few stairs. But you can also hire a palki to climb these stairs if unable to walk. All in all a great experience and hope mataji calls us back to...
