Read moreA very spiritual place which I have been visiting since my childhood... It is said that it's the only temple of Lord Shiva installed / enshrined (a more appropriate word wud be प्रतिष्ठापित) by Lord Indra...!!
The place, in my childhood days, used to be almost an unknown place... Ensconced deep in the woods with strong tree and green cover...
Over the years, the place has become more 'formatted' and 'laminated in concrete'... Ofcourse, it's to manage the steadily rising stream of devotees to the temple shrine...
My personal preference and heart goes out to the old unformatted and 'decripit' looks of the temple, which infused a sense of serenity & simplicity, quietude & passivity... A place where one cud come and be alone and mingle in the eternal expanse of Shiva, without external artificial affectation...!! But that's how the passage of time affects every aspect of life...!! Everything is getting more and more 'formatted' with passage of time...!! Which also means a rapidly reducing green cover and increasing concretization...!!
The temple has, now a days, started denying entry to those coming in shorts and ¾ths etc...!! I had to twice turn back fm the temple, cos I was unmindful of the rule...!! So before going please ensure you are not in shorts or skirts...!! Except, ofcourse, if you are a kid...!!
Overall, Dholeshwar Mahadev Temple is the finest spiritual retreat...!! If you are lucky to be alone in the temple's inner sanctum, you can close your eyes and dissolve in the eternal bliss of auspicious Shiva...!! Try chanting Shiva Tandav Stotram in your mind and get the peace...
