I planned to visit Saputara from Mumbai for a long weekend but I visited almost all corners of Saputara within 2 days. As it was the starting of monsoon, the climate was pretty good and I have two more days in hand to explore more. So I immediately decided to go little further to visit few more places. I drove towards Vansda National Park and the scenic beauty of both sides of the road just made me spellbound. After Entering into the national park, we went straight to Kilad Eco Camp site. As it was not pre-planned, so we didn't get any accomodation at the log huts and tree houses and tents were not functional due to rain. Finally they allow us to stay in the rooms opposite to tree houses. Rooms were very small and not well-maintained. Being inside the National Park, this campsite doesn't have electricity supply. That place was totally dependent on solar energy and because of monsoon, solar energy operated lights were not working. It was already late afternoon, so we immediately went out to explore the campsite and nearby jungle area. Entire camp is located at the bank of Ambika River and we were thrilled to hear the floating sounds of the river. It seemed that we had reached to a new world. Next day morning we woke up early morning by the chirping sounds of birds and spent some more time in the lap of nature. After freshen up, we checked out and left for Gira waterfalls. But unfortunately it was dry as it was just the starting of the monsoon. The shop of locally-made bamboo toys & house-decors would definitely catch your attention near the waterfalls. We just clicked some photos and left for our next destination - Waghai Botanical Garden. This botanical garden opens at 8am and there is no admission charges. It spreaded over huge area and their cactus collection is one of the major attractions of the garden. The green environment of Vansda National park would definitely satisfy your...
