Once Karthikeya, the eldest son of Shiva and Parvati asked his father about the path to salvation. He was informed that in every yuga, the path to moksha is different. For Kaliyuga, the emphasis would be on Karma & Dharma.Lord Shiva is a god of ambiguity and paradox. He is depicted with an ambivalent nature when worshipped by the Hindus as their supreme God. He is mentioned in the Yajurveda as possessing both malignant and auspicious attributes. He is depicted in the Mahabharata as a figure of honour, delight, and Lord Shiva, similar to Lord Vishnu, had many avatars. It was Virabhadra, an avatar of Lord Shiva, who disrupted Daksha’s yajna and cut off his head. His Bhairava avatar, also known as Kaal Bhairava, was created to protect the Sati Pind. His Durvasa avatar was famous for his short temper. Khandoba was another avatar of Shiva known in Maharashtrian and Kannada cultures. Finally, Hanuman avatar is known as the eleventh Rudraavtaar of Lord Shiva in the era of Lord Rama!.Lord Shiva is worshipped in the form of the linga - some of which are jyotirlingas - at numerous places across India. The Linga, a sign of masculinity, symbolises Shiva’s role in the creation, sustainance and withdrawal of the Universe. One of Shiva's greatest services to the world was to tame the mighty Ganga river. Once upon a time, the Ganga used to traverse through the heavens only, leaving the earth parched and dry. When a wise man changed the course of the river, it threatened to become a raging torrent which would certainly flood the earth. However, Shiva stood in the way of the heavens and the earth and captured Ganga in his thick locks, thereby stemming its flow.Lord Shiva is also known by the name of “Nilakaṇtha”, which literally means the blue-throated. When Lord Shiva swallowed the most deadly poison to save the worlds, Goddess Parvati was taken aback and feared the safety of her Master. Therefore she rushed in to hold his neck before the poison could descend down further downwards. This incident made the Lord’s neck turn blue and this is duly depicted in art and the representations of Lord Shiva’s form in...

Well first of all we went there because it is said to good for skin diseases. Natural hot sulphur water, said to be coming from mountains. It is collected in man made room type kunds through pipes. There are separate kunds for men and women. Ticket is for ₹5 for common pools. There is a private kund in which 4 person can take bath for ₹50 for 20 minutes. Also there are two kunds in open area which seems to be free, at least for locals, not sure if visitors can also dip in them fir free. And what's more, you can take that water in cans with you to use it at home at your convenience. Then there is of course the Lord Shiva temple because of which this is called shiv kund. But it is in interior part of sohna, that means you can't drive your car there. As there is web of narrow streets, you'll have to park your car in main road parking and from there either you can walk down to temple or you can take a rickshaw. But all in all it was nice. And it would help in getting rid of skin diseases then certainly...

I loved this place and feel the importance of this place . The place is famous for hot natural water and fortunately I visited in winter so I had enjoyed bathing here . This is and 100+ year old place . It have three options to take bath . Firstly for general bath where you will have to bath in a common pool kind of place . Secondly it is available as special bath where you will have a private place to have both . Third one is VIP bathing where you do have options to take shower under bathroom and good options to go for . Waiting time Is slight higher aa there are three bathroom only and people. Visit more during winters . It help to heel if you have anykind of skin disease. Good place to visit here .
