It was breath taking seeing the life and the power this woman had while she was in Power in India. All the artifacts and seeing where she was assassinated makes one wonder to rule a country like India which is riddle with poverty and influenced by the Caste system I salute Mrs. Ghandi as a strong woman. Wish they have more people like here in India

Worth Missing
Its poorly organized and more of a Government propoganda glorifying the Indian Royal family--Sonia, Rajiv.
Don't waste your precious time or money. Avoid unless you are trying to curry favor with someone.

A 1980's time capsule.
Fascinating peek inside the home of Indira Gandhi, it's like looking into a mid 1980's time capsule. They day we visited there was a long queue so everyone had to keep moving. Some people were adamant on seeing the blood splattered sari she wore the day of her assassination although it wasn't on display.
You follow a series of arrows on the path and it ends at the pathway where the Prime Minister was assassinated.
Worth the visit.

Read moreVisiting Maa Sharda Temple in Maihar was an unforgettable spiritual journey that left me feeling deeply connected and at peace. Perched atop Trikuta Hill, this sacred abode of Goddess Sharda is a beacon of devotion and serenity. The temple’s location, surrounded by lush greenery and a tranquil atmosphere, adds to its divine charm.
We opted for the ropeway to reach the temple, which was a smooth and scenic ride, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and the town below. For those seeking a more traditional experience, climbing the 1,000+ steps is a rewarding challenge, with each step feeling like a step closer to the divine. The stairs are steep but well-maintained, and there are resting points along the way, which is a thoughtful touch for devotees.
Upon reaching the temple, the energy is palpable. The sanctum sanctorum, where Maa Sharda resides, radiates warmth and spirituality. The darshan was well-organized, with priests guiding devotees efficiently, even during peak hours. The idol of Maa Sharda is mesmerizing, and offering prayers here felt like a moment of pure connection with the divine. The temple premises are clean, and the staff is courteous, ensuring a hassle-free experience.
The surrounding area has small shops selling prasad, flowers, and souvenirs, which adds to the vibrant yet peaceful vibe. However, I’d advise visitors to be cautious of local touts who may try to overcharge for services or push unnecessary offerings. Visiting early in the morning is highly recommended to avoid crowds and soak in the calm ambiance.
The temple’s history, tied to the legend of Alha and Udal, adds a fascinating layer to the visit. The nearby Alha temple is worth a quick stop for those interested in the folklore. The overall experience—combining spirituality, natural beauty, and cultural significance—makes Maihar Mata Mandir a must-visit for devotees and travelers alike. I left with a heart full of gratitude and a promise to return. Highly recommend planning a visit to...

Perched atop Trikuta Hill at an altitude of about 600 feet, this temple is a blend of devotion, natural beauty, and mythology. It is believed that the temple marks the spot where a piece of Goddess Sati’s necklace fell, making it a significant Shakti Peetha.
Reaching the temple is an experience in itself, as devotees can either climb the 1,063 steps or use the ropeway service for a convenient ascent. The breathtaking views from the hilltop are worth the effort, offering a serene backdrop to the spiritual ambiance.
The temple sees a surge in visitors during Navratri, when it is adorned with lights and vibrant decorations, creating a festive and devotional atmosphere. The priests perform rituals with utmost devotion, and the chants and aartis evoke a deep sense of peace. The surrounding area, with its lush greenery and calm environment, adds to the temple’s charm.
