Dhosi Hill is an important Vedic period site, an extinct volcano, standing alone at the north-west end of the Aravalli mountain range. Its height varies from about 345 to 470 meters from the surrounding lands and 740 meters from the sea level. At present the hill has temples, a pakka pond, ruins of a fort, caves and forest around it. In the ancient times, as per various scriptures like Mahabharata - Vanparv, Puranas, Shathpath Brahmana etc. the hill had Ashrams of various Rishis who made contributions to Vedic scriptures. The hill has all the physical features of a perfect volcanic hill with distinct crater, lava still lying on it and giving a perfect conical view from top.[citation needed]

Read moreThis extinct volcano is in Haryana near the Rajasthan border. There are two side from which you can climb up the hill. I would suggest that you go from Thana village side as that has shelter and water facility in between the stairs at short intervals. Also that is the shorter distance. The best season to go to Dhosi is post monsoon or Winters as in summers the region is too hot. It is most beautiful in September as there is greenery all around and blue sky with cotton clouds in the sky. Make sure you have water bottles, caps and shades on to avoid excess heat. When you reach the top you'll find the very beautiful centre of the extinct volcano where there are temples, ponds and beautiful cows. It's a very beautiful place to visit. Just for safety, make sure you don't go to the place alone if you're not familiar with the region. Try going with your friends...

First Delhi Rewari highway and then Rewari Narnaul highway. Lot of eateries on the way including the old Rao Hotel. This place has a number of attractions like the Chyavana Rishi mandir and a manza devi temple at the top. This is a rocky hill with a height of around 600 meter. Climb is tough, it took me two hours to visit the Chyavana rishi Ashram and come back. Did not dare to climb up to manza devi. The view on the way is excellent. Do the climb with light luggage water is compulsory . There is a small parking lot at the bottom were only a few cars can park. From the main road there is a narrow road with almost half a kilometer that leads to the parking lot. I had a wonderful experience...
