Chor Gumbad: A Historic Gem with Room for Improvement
Chor Gumbad in Narnaul, Mahendergarh District, is an architectural marvel that transports you back to the 14th century. Perched on a hillock in the Jamalpur area along Singhana Road, this majestic monument offers a fascinating glimpse into the past, dating back to the reign of Firoz Shah Tughlaq (1351-88 AD). Constructed by Afghan Jamal Khan, it stands as a significant landmark of Narnaul, showcasing an impressive square structure with four minarets and a veranda that creates the illusion of a double-storied building.
The Chor Gumbad, once possibly a hideout for thieves, is now a well-planned monument that exudes historical charm and grandeur. Its low dome and intricate arches are a testament to the architectural brilliance of the era. The surrounding park, developed by the district administration, adds to the appeal, making it a perfect spot for history enthusiasts and casual visitors alike.

It is crucial for the Haryana Government to ensure proper upkeep of this historic site, as its significance deserves to be preserved in a pristine condition.
Despite these issues, Chor Gumbad remains a must-visit attraction. Its rich history and unique structure make it an unforgettable destination. With improved maintenance, it has the potential to shine even brighter as a cultural and historical beacon in...
