Panipat Museum is located near Sinchai Bhawan, on the bank of Western Yamuna Canal. Panipat, a city which changed the history of the Indian subcontinent forever as these battles gave altogether a different direction to the Indian history. Highlighting the importance of Panipat, a museum has been established in the city which currently functions under the aegis of 'Battle of Panipat Memorial Society'. It showcases the antiquities and other archaeological treasures recovered from different archaeological sites across the state of Haryana. A special gallery is dedicated for the folk culture of Haryana state and a gallery for the Mughal Miniature Paintings depicting the battle scenes of Panipat. Not a crowded place as it is located on the outskirts of the Panipat city, exactly opposite of the battlefield. Do visit this museum if one wants to know the historical significance of Panipat. Fee Charges: ₹15 for the Indian Nationals Timings: 10:00 am- 05:00 pm (except Mondays &...

The core idea behind establishing Panipat Museum was to spread information and create awareness about archaeology, history, art and crafts of Haryana. Here one will have an opportunity to see antiquities, inscriptions, sculptures, arms and armours, pottery, old and valuable documents, jewellery, art and craft objects, which are on display in the museum. It also provides a rare chance to witness bravery of valiant and patriotic warriors who sacrificed their lives at Panipat battle through some write-ups, photographs and trans-slides.

One of the key attractions of museum is enlarged photographs of important miniatures. These miniatures are from Baburnama and Akbarnama. These have been obtained from important places like National Museum of New Delhi, The British Library and Victoria and Albert Museum of London. Importantly, most of the traditional artifacts and other items are procured from various...

Was having lot of expectations from this museum considering historical importance of this place, however in reality it turns out to be nothing at all. Except for a few description boards, there's nothing much to see. Museum is not maintained properly. Full of dust & smell. Some old coins & display items are falling apart. The museum is so small that it shouldn't take more than 30 min to cover while reading all the information boards. If not 10min is more than enough. Considering all those cons, a fee of ₹25 per adult is way too much for the museum. This is one of the very few reviews I've made with negative vibes. Sorry to say but definitely disappointed.
