I recently visited Himani Chamunda Temple in Palampur, and it was an unforgettable experience. The temple is located on top of a hill and reaching there involves a long but beautiful trek.

🛤️ The Trek – The trail is around 13 km from the road. It took us about 7 hours to reach the temple, as the path is steep and challenging at some points. While returning, it only took around 3 hours, since it’s mostly downhill. On the way, you’ll enjoy fresh mountain air, pine forests, and scenic views of the Dhauladhar range and Kangra Valley.

☕ On the Way – Midway, we found a small old home shop run by elderly locals. There was Natural Drinking Water source & we filled our bottles with it. They were selling tea, biscuits, and simple eatables. Their hardworking nature and warm hospitality made the journey even more special. Having hot tea with biscuits at that height was truly refreshing.

🙏 The Temple – Peaceful, clean, and filled with positive vibes. Once you reach the top, the calm atmosphere and sound of temple bells make you forget all the tiredness.

🌟 Highlights 13 km trek with breathtaking views Warm hospitality from locals on the trail Less crowded, very peaceful A perfect blend of adventure + spirituality

💡Tips Start early in the morning, as the trek takes time Carry enough water and some snacks or eatables Wear sturdy trekking shoes Weather can change quickly, so keep a Raincoat, an umbrella & jacket handy

Overall, it’s not just a temple visit but a soulful journey. The long trek, the kind locals, and the peaceful temple at the top make it one of the most memorable experiences...

We visited this holy place in April, trek starting from Jia village. It is considered as one of the holy shrine of the Devi Aadi Himani Chamunda as viewed against the backdrop of the Dhauladhar mountains. Aadi Himani Chamunda Temple (3185 meters) is located on a hilltop North East to the existing Shri Chamunda Devi Mandir in Kangra District of Himachal Pradesh. It takes approximately six hours to trek by foot. Trek comes under moderate difficulty. Beautiful and calm place to get the inner peace and temple surrounded by dhauladhar hills on the back side of temple. This is a holy place & a must visit temple in the region. I recently visited this temple and I must say that it was a truly wonderful experience. The infrastructure of the temple is very well-maintained and clean, which is quite impressive. Another great feature of the temple is the surroundings, which adds to the overall beauty of the location. The fresh air is surrounding is peaceful. This place is not crowded but this is steep trek. A maximum of one hour is needed to fully explore this area. Trekking in the Himalayas is an unforgettable experience that touches your soul. The natural beauty, the cultural richness, and the physical and mental challenges all combine to create an adventure of a lifetime. It's a journey that reminds you of the power and grandeur of nature while also introducing you to the resilience and warmth of the people who call this rugged terrain home. Must bring own eatables and water because it is available only in one point during the journey. Advised to carry some blanket or sweater as the temperature...

The Trek to 🄰🄰🄳🄸 🄷🄸🄼🄰🄽🄸 🄲🄷🄰🄼🅄🄽🄳🄰 🄳🄴🅅🄸 Temple is both challenging and rewarding. The steep gradient makes it a strenuous hike, so bring plenty of water as there are few sources along the way. The views are incredible, especially on a clear day, offering sweeping vistas of the hills and valleys. The temple itself is under construction, promising future developments. However, the path is littered with plastic bottles, ⓒⓗⓘⓟⓢ wrappers, and even ⓑⓔⓔⓡ bottles left by tourists, which detracts from the experience. A cleanup effort and better waste management would make this trek truly exceptional. # 𝚃𝚒𝚖𝚎 𝚝𝚊𝚔𝚎𝚗 𝚝𝚘 𝚞𝚙 - 4 𝙷𝚛𝚜 & 10 𝙼𝚒𝚗 (𝚒𝚗𝚌𝚕𝚞𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚋𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚔𝚜) # 𝚃𝚒𝚖𝚎 𝚝𝚊𝚔𝚎𝚗 𝚝𝚘 𝚌𝚕𝚒𝚖𝚋 𝚍𝚘𝚠𝚗 - 2 𝙷𝚛𝚜 & 18 𝙼𝚒𝚗 (𝚒𝚗𝚌𝚕𝚞𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚋𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚔𝚜) # 𝚃𝚛𝚎𝚔𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚍𝚊𝚝𝚎 - 30 𝙾𝚌𝚝 2024.
