About Baba Kamlahiya Baba Kamlahiya Ji: As per believe, Baba Kamlahiya and Baba Balaknath arrived on the Dev Bhoomi of Himachal Pradesh from Jammu. They were very impressed with the holiness of this land. Baba Balaknath settle down at Shahtalayi and Baba Kamlahayia travelling through Palampur, Sarkhaghat arrived on the hills of Kamlahgarh. He was found this place very ideal and started his bhakti under a tree. Everyday Baba used to collect milk from an old lady. One-day baba had to wait for a long time as lady had gone to bring fodder for her cattle.

When babaji asked reason for delay, tired & angry lady started yelling on him. On hearing this baba returned empty handed and never seen again. There after every effort to search did not bear any fruit. There after a shepherd, whose sheep & goats used to graze on those hills, saw that one of his goat is spraying her milk under a tree where Babaji worshiped. When shepherd reached there he saw statue and hence a believe came into existence that Babaji has scarified himself. He started that place and found that his herd growing a phenomenal face. Since then day after day glory and fellowship of Babaji started growing and Babaji never let his true devotes going empty handed. It is said that once the tree dried, devotes build a temple.

Recent Develpoment:

In May 2008, the place was in news as 10 disintegrated human skulls found here while digging the fields close to the fort. Villagers suspect there could be more skulls in the region. Then Mandi SP M. Chandra Sekhar said the human skulls appeared to be of the old time. “These were disintegrated beyond recognition. We are asking the forensic experts and archaeologists to examine the human...

The temple is located on the very top of the highest hill in Dharampur dist. Of Hamirpur, H.P. and is known to be in existence since very old times. It’s a short trek that takes you through the remains of Kamlah fort from where the king ruled this area of himachal.

The temple however is made in remembrance of Baba Kamalaiah who was brother of Baba Balaknath. As per believe, Baba Kamlahiya and Baba Balaknath arrived on the Dev Bhoomi of Himachal Pradesh from Jammu. They were very impressed with the holiness of this land and it’s beauty. Baba Balak nath chose to settle down at Shahtalayi and Baba Kamlahayia travelling through Palampur, Sarkhaghat arrived on the hills of Kamlahgarh.

The roads to this place are yet to be developed but one can drive to this place in a car. The weather is said to be always drizzling and that’s how it was when we arrived at the destination. One the way, we saw beautiful terrace farms and homes that were still built...

Kamlah Garh (Kamlah Fort) is at the elevation of 1380 to 1390 meters from sea level as per one of the application on Google play store. There is also a temple of Kamahiya Baba on the one top and on the other there is a beautiful viewpoint now covered under a shed someone called it as Hawa Mahal .Main attraction for me is the fort. It takes half an hour exciting trek full of exertion and there is only one way to hike upto the top.It might have been very difficult for any conquerer to reach upto the top. Yes if you want to see and exert , it is situated in Sarkaghat tehsil of Mandi district. If you are coming from Mandi or Hamirpur first come to Dharampur via Sarkaghat, from Dharampur take the route to Kamlah fort. Don't take any alternative/short route otherwise...

Visited here with my family twice for religious reasons. Got to experience a good trek experience also on the way to temple as it is situated on a steep hill. You can also experience good scenic and architectural views in your way to temple as the path is surrounded by the kamlah fort. The lunch arrangements are also present there while on your way down from the temple. I’ll recommend to trek in early morning as the sun is unbearable in the afternoon to move upwards and also a bit difficult for elderly people and people with heart conditions so take good care of them while the trek.

Kamlah Fort is a 17th-century fort located near Kamlah village in the province of Himachal Pradesh, India west of Mandi. It was constructed in 1625 by Raja Hari Sen and his son Suraj Sen of Mandi. The Mandi kingdom depended on its forts for its security, and Kamlah Fort had the reputation of being the most secure repository of the reputed 360 forts of the Mandi state from the rule of Suraj Sen to that of Ishvari Sen (1788–1826). Maharaja Ranjit Singh attacked the fort in 1830. It was destroyed in 1840 and then retaken a few years later and reconstructed by Mandi Kings.

Famous shrine of Baba Kamalahiya ji is situated in Dharampur tehsil of District Mandi (Himachal Pradesh). The holy shrine is inside the once considered invincible Kamlahgad fort. The temple of Baba Kamalahiya ji is at a distance of about 25 kilometers from Dharampur town, this temple is the center of religious faith and people from far and wide come to this temple with their wishes. One has to climb approx 1000 steps from the road head to reach the temple. Baba Kamalahiya ji fulfills everyone's wishes and removes everyone's sorrows.
