Bagalamukhi or Bagala (बगलामुखी) is one of the Ten Mahavidyas/Tantrik (great wisdom goddesses) in Hinduism. Bagalamukhi Devi smashes the devotee's misconceptions and delusions (or the devotee's enemies) with her cudgel. She is also known as Pitambara Maa in North India. Bagalamukhi is also called Shatrubuddhivinashini and Brahmastra Roopini and she turns each thing into its opposite. The goddess associated with yellow colour or golden colour. She sits on golden throne having pillars decorated with various jewels and has three eyes, which symbolizes that she can impart ultimate knowledge to the devotee. The main temples dedicated to Bagalamukhi or Bagala Devi are located at Bagalamukhi Temple-Nalkheda, Madhya Pradesh, Bugiladhar-Ghuttu, Uttarakhand, Kamakhya Temple-Guwahati, Assam and Bagalamukhi Dham-Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. The word "Bagala" is derived from the word "Valga" (meaning – bridle or to rein in) which, became "Vagla" and then "Bagla". The Devi has 108 different names. As per dhyan mantra which depicts the same - Sauvarnasan samsthitaam trinayana. Bagalamukhi is one of the ten forms of the wise Devi, symbolizing potent female primeval force. Mantra- ॐ ह्लीं बगलामुखी सर्व दुष्टानां वाचं मुखं पदं स्तम्भय जिव्हां कीलय बुद्धिं विनाशय ह्लीं ॐ स्वाहा ॥ [Om Hleem Bagala-mukhi sarva dushtanam vacham mukham padam stambhay jeevhwam keelaye buddhim vinashaya hleem om swaha] Another interpretation translates her name as "Kalyani". In Kubjika Tantra there is a reference to yet another interpretation of the meaning of the name ‘Bagala’. In the initial chapter of the text, there is a verse – ‘Bakare Baruni Devi Gakare Siddhida Smrita. Lakare Prithivi Chaiba Chaitanya Prakrirtita’ (‘Ba’, the first letter of the name – ‘Bagala’, means ‘Baruni’ or ‘She Who is filled with the intoxicating mood to vanquish the demon’. ‘Ga’, the second letter, means ‘She Who grants all kinds of divine powers or siddhis and successes to human beings’. ‘La’, the third letter, means ‘She Who is the foundation of all kinds of sustaining powers in the world like the earth and is Consciousness Herself’. #Travelwith #VirtuousIndiaTravelogue7 & #BharatkoshYatra #JaiMataDi #JaiMaaBagalamukhi #JaiHind 🚩🚩🚩🚩

I visited Mata Baglamukhi Temple with my family and it was a great visit and a beautiful experience. The temple is dedicated to the goddess of power and victory, who is also known as the one who paralyzes the enemies. The temple is located in a serene and green environment, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The temple is neatly maintained and has a yellow theme, which is the color of the goddess. The yellow color symbolizes positivity, happiness and prosperity. I felt a sense of joy and peace as I entered the temple. There is an statue of the goddess is very attractive and powerful. The temple has a bright and radiant vibe that fills the devotees with confidence and courage. The temple also has a special mention to the "Old Shiv Mandir" nearby and Bhairava statue near the entrance. The Shiv Mandir is an ancient and sacred place where Lord Shiva is worshipped as the supreme lord of the universe. The Bhairava statue is a fierce and protective form of Lord Shiva, who guards the temple from evil forces. I felt a calming and a surreal experience as I prayed to these deities. I also enjoyed the prasad and the aarti that were offered at the temple. The priests and the staff were very helpful and polite. There were homams and pujas happening continuously near the temple during our visit. They explained the significance and the history of the temple to us. They also told us about the various rituals and festivals that are celebrated at the temple. Overall, Mata Baglamukhi Temple is a must-visit place for anyone who wants to experience the power and grace of the goddess. It is a unique and spiritual experience that will stay with you forever.
