Hi, Let me share my experience of Parashar lake. We went there when no one actually wants to be there. It was complete off-season and we could literally count the number of people on our hands.
Parashar lake was the scariest, but also most adorable. Let me try to picture the story here. Hope you have some time to spare! We were in Manali when we though of going to Parashar lake as it was almost in our way to Delhi. From Mandi it would take around 1.5 to 2 hrs via any cab to reach Parashar. Believe me, it's the remotest place I have ever seen. It felt like we were driving across mountains, moving up and up with no clue how far we need to go. Then we entered a forest, crossed it in an hour and then finally reached Parashar village. But surprisingly, the road was mostly good and were well maintained. We reached the peak as far as we could through the cab and then we stopped there. By the time we reached this village, it was almost sunset and we could count the number of people within foreseeable radius. We stayed at Baugchi Cafe. Actually it was the only place to stay where we were. It's an ok place to stay, but the attender - Ashu Gupta is a nice guy and takes good care. The place had almost no network coverage but it was really silent place. The food was nice (veg. only) but it was really cold. This time around mid-March is the peak of the off-season, so we could see no one around us. Next morning we got a guide for the trek to Parashar lake and we started around 8 am. There were 2 ways to trek - a relatively comfortable way through plain roads and secondly, a shortcut path through which you have to literally climb and walk 90 degrees and it was slippery as well. To save time, we took the shortcut, somehow managed to reach till some point where we finally needed to follow the roads again. We trekked, then trekked on the sloppy snow. But till now we could see the path where we have to walk. After a point we were walking on human trail. On one side we had big mountain covered with snow and on the other side could clearly see our death if we slipped. Finally when we were about to reach the lake, last ~500 m was near death experience. There was no path and we were walking on the sloppy snow at some angle. I won't actually say that we were walking, we were crawling. Our hands were in the the snow, trying to hinge themselves somewhere and allow our legs to walk peacefully. Our heart was beating as if it was the last time it could do so. But we reached the lake. There was snow all around except in the lake. It was beautiful. We could see the lake, the temple and how the nature has kept them untouched in its lap. We were really tired, drenched. We ate maggi, drank sugary tea and were sitting silently trying to absorb the beauty within an hour that we had. Everything was fine, except a part of mind was constantly telling us- 'folks! you need to go back alive!' We could have enjoyed more if this thought could be removed from our sub-conscious. But was can't. Approximately after an hour, we called the guide, who was telling us to come on our own on the deathliest path we saw in our entire life. But finally on our heavy request, he came to the temple gate and then walked along with us. We struggled to save our lives for the initial 500 metres. But luckily we crossed that and started walking back. This time we took the long route and enjoyed our journey back. We could talk to the mountains face to face. We breathed fresh air and tried thinking our purpose of our lives as well. Finally we were back to our base station. It felt like we conquered something. We were so happy and excited. We got ourselves refreshed and then then started our journey...

Read moreOne word; Trek is short and amazing! We reached Mandi around 7 am after 11 hours bus journey from Delhi(Kashmiri Gate ISBT). After getting fresh at bus station itself we catches HRTC bus(1 service) of Parsher at sharp 8 AM which dropped us Bagi Village (₹47) at 10 AM. We took breakfast there and started trekking(image 1,opposite direction of river flow). After 800 mtr a road started from right side(image 2) however we have chosen to climb rocks as a short cut(image 3). Again after walking 900 mtr we reach to the point (image 4) where we entered into forest and started climbing the steep mountain. After 1:45 hours trekking in amazing nature there was a confusing point(image 5). So we took left upside turn to reach faster however right turn is longer and less steep and take you on the same point(image 6). Just to confirm we are at right direction, electricity poles(image 7) give us hope. It was a confusing point and after a guess that electricity wires will take us to the Temple we found another trek(image 8) which take us to the end(image 9) along with electricity wire. It took us 4 hours to reach at the point where our destination was visible in the form of some rest houses. It took another 30 minutes and result was an amazing view of Lake and temple. We setup our tent however stey in the temple was available on request for free. Just behind the temple these was a refreshment shop where aunty served us delicious Paratha. Water, food and tea is available at genuine rate. We started our return journey at 10:30 and reached Bagi at 1:30 pm. We took some refreshments and catches bus at 2:30 pm which dropped us Mandi around 4:30 PM and a beautiful trek come to end.
Undoubtedly those 26 hours (11:30 am to 1:30 pm) gave us immense calm and breeze to beat fast and polluted...
