The valley we are talking about is full of life and one can experience the positive energy. Trekking for 16 kms that connects two road heads can be done in a day or 2. One can experience the village life, nature, wild life, birding, local culture, trekking, camping and angling.
Information about the village
RajGundha & KukarGundha are twin villages which have beautiful environment, Villages are well connected with other villages but still not connected with the road and have amazing views and the lovable aroma all around the valley. This valley is full of birds and wild life. Villagers here live here for 6 months and in winters move to lower places with their cattle’s to save them from snow and cold. Houses made up of old traditional way with stone and mud. Earlier this area was under wild life sanctuary but recently village area removed from wild life and used as agriculture land.
Badagran is an old village and traditional heritage of Himachal . Here in the village houses constructed with stone slates and big wooden logs. This village is recently connected by road with the other lower area of Himachal Pradesh. Villagers live on cattle’s and the vegetables they grow, valley is tremendously fertile to grow the vegetables and the pulses. Area is disconnected with other parts in winters due to heavy snow fall, that’s why villagers store the sufficient food stuff and woods for winters, few of them move to lower parts.

Read moreRajgundha Village - Barot Valley, has been one of the most enriching experiences I have ever had witnessed.
Calm, huge and greenery all around.
Greenery, lush green forests with pine trees, cattle grazing the grass, gobhi farms.
Very less construction, no commercialisation.
Rajgundha is almost 30 kms from Bir if you take the Bir to Billing to Rajgundha one route.
There is total calm and peace if one wants to do away with cafe, paragliding and all other stuff which Bir has to offer.
A small hostel property by Zostel, which keeps open round the year except for heavy rainfalls and winters. (It snows heavy over there).
Please carry your own trash bags to keep your trash and don't spoil the estate/land. You'll be fined heavily if caught trashing up there. Also it's our duty to not spoil nature and keep things as they are.
Note:- Always ask the locals of the condition of the road, because a road is being constructed from Billing to Rajgundha, the route which happens to stay closed during road construction should be checked before going from this route.
Do give me follow and DM on Instagram/@ikarankapoor to know more about the location during any time of the year, as I keep updated with the situation up here in Bir, Billing,...
Read moreThe views and the snow trek( visited during March ) that you get throughout this trek is simply heavenly. There is two ways you can reach rajgundha either by bus from barot ( 4 hrs ) or by trekking from billing (12 kms ). The snow trek in March is the best as you could have good views as the burash flower ( rhododendrons ) bloom on mountains and the snow in the path makes its really adventurous fo the first timers in the snow. Trek is not at all steepy as it's almost plain ( elevation gain 100 mts from billing). Staying options are numerous with zostel( always booked ) and camps at rajgunda there is also option for camping in chenna pass ( if you like to very peaceful experience under the canopy of tr es ) . You could have one of the best morning views of the snow mountains if you camp in rajgunda (360° view ) . One day up and down trek is physically draining from billing as you should stay in rajgundha for atleast a day. For first timer in snow definitely hire a guide as it's a little slippery at places and need...
