Kapra Lake — Attraction in Hyderabad

Kapra lake, one good place in the sainikpuri area for some refreshment to all the age people and it is around 1+ km from sainikpuri signal and next to the lane of Coffee and cakes.

Coming to the place, there was good development here in the last 2-5 years compared to that of last 10-15 years, as i have been seeing it right from my childhood.There is a special immersion point made specifically for bahtukamma and ganesh immersion and the lake was also made a round boundary followed by a leveled path across it so that people can have a jog/run either in morning's or evenings.

The total circle of the lake would be around 8km and the path of 1-2 km is not connected and we have to comeback, there are 3 entrances for the lake, the main one only has a open area for any big vehicles to come and the one of it is closed and the other one is little closed, as only bikes could come in.

I personally go for jogging daily in the morning and such a good place to enjoy the nature to...

Kapra Lake also known as Oora Cheruvu(in Telugu), is located in the Kapra district, sainikpuri,Secunderabad. The natural beauty of the lake endows the locale with its scenic beauty and is treasured by the locals for it.The lake is currently being planned to be further developed by the GHMC. The lake is an ideal site for anyone who loves nature and prefers to spend their time away from the city. Autumn is the best season to visit Kapra Lake. But now the place is very polluted,the water smells very bad ..one cant even stand there for a minute. People do come in the morning and evening time to spend some time there but i was not able to stand there because of that bad smell. One can see in the photos how polluted it is. The lake was not at all polluted when me and father used to come to buy fish 🐟 from the fish market infront...

Lot of it is lost for house around until the fence was put, it was even bigger,

Before people illegally occupied the lake area, and the government doesn't bother about it, but are worried about drinkers who have been using this spot since decades, people who have been drinking and chilling here before the households who illegally made the lake smaller.

Better support people who come for peace of mind.

A great place to chill down, but it's just a drainage open sewer, people around feel as if they own the lake not letting people to sit near the gates, Before the lake was very huge these people around the front have filled in the lake and occupied it, don't know how legal is it to fill the lake and build houses, What government is doing supporting these people,any how government...
