Pisanhari ki Madhiya is a prominent Jain pilgrimage center located in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India. It's renowned for its spiritual significance, historical roots, and architectural beauty. The Inspiring Legend: The name "Pisanhari ki Madhiya" itself tells a heartwarming story. "Pisanhari" translates to "a woman who grinds flour," and "Madhiya" refers to a small temple or shrine. Legend has it that the original temple, dating back to the 15th century (specifically 1442 CE), was built by a humble, devout Jain woman who earned her livelihood by manually grinding flour. Despite her meager income, she meticulously saved every penny to fulfill her dream of constructing a temple. Her unwavering devotion and tireless efforts are commemorated by a statue of Pisanhari at the temple's entrance, and the quern stones she used are still preserved there. This origin story imbues the complex with a powerful message of faith, dedication, and the profound spirituality of ordinary people. Architectural Splendor and Complex: Pisanhari ki Madhiya is not just a single temple but a sprawling complex encompassing more than 13 smaller temples, a cave temple, and other important structures, spread over 18 acres. The architecture showcases intricate carvings, delicate motifs, and grand entrances, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Jainism. Key architectural highlights include: Shri Nandishwar Dweep Jinalaya: This is the largest Jain temple within the complex, spanning an impressive 15,000 square feet. It features a vaulted roof, a mandapa (pillared hall), and a two-story garbhagriha (inner sanctuary). It houses 152 marble idols of Tirthankaras in small shrines and is celebrated for its exquisite artwork. Samavsaran Mandir and Manastambha: These are other notable structures within the complex, contributing to its overall grandeur. Bhagwan Bahubali Statue: A magnificent 55-foot idol of Bhagwan Bahubali is a significant attraction, drawing pilgrims and admirers. The complex is often adorned with carvings depicting various mythological scenes and deities, creating a serene and inspiring atmosphere conducive to prayer and meditation. Significance as a Pilgrimage Center: Pisanhari ki Madhiya is a revered site, particularly for the Digambar Jain sect. Pilgrims from far and wide visit to offer prayers, seek blessings, and immerse themselves in the peaceful environment. The temple complex is also equipped with facilities for pilgrims, including a dharmshala (rest house), a Bhojnalaya (restaurant), a Gurukula (Brahmi Vidyashram), and a girls' hostel, making it a comprehensive spiritual and educational hub. Visiting Pisanhari ki Madhiya: Location: Situated on a small hill near Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College in Jabalpur, approximately 9 kilometers from Jabalpur Junction. Accessibility: Visitors can reach the main temple by climbing a flight of stairs (around 150-350 steps, depending on the source). The hilltop location offers stunning panoramic views of the surroundings. Timings: Generally open from early morning (around 6 AM) to evening (around 9 PM). Best Time to Visit: The cooler months from October to March are ideal for a comfortable visit. Entry: There is no entry fee to visit the temple complex. Pisanhari ki Madhiya stands as a testament to deep faith and devotion, offering a unique blend of historical significance, architectural brilliance, and spiritual tranquility. It's a must-visit for those seeking peace, cultural insights, and a connection with...

Pisanhari ki Madiya is a well-known pilgrimage for the Digambar Jain sect. This Jain temple is situated close to the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College. This 500-year-old temple is one of the most visited places in Jabalpur and is known for its architecture and beauty. There is a legend that says that this temple was built by a poor woman after she heard the voice of a holy Jain monk. The monk's magical words gave her the inspiration to go ahead and built this massive structure. There are stones in the temple that were laid down by this lady and these stones are still unmoved and kept at the same place to showcase her unmatched devotion and determination. In order to pay her a befitting tribute, this temple was named Pisanhari ki Madiya that can be translated to the woman preparing wheat flour on hand-operated stone mill. With beautiful surroundings at its vicinity, this Jain temple in Jabalpur is visited by hundreds every year.

Pisanhari Ki Madia is situated near Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College on Nagpur Jabalpur Road. As soon as we enter the gate, we find a statue of a woman working a hand mill above the main gate. This statue is of the same woman after whom this place has been named Pisanhari Ki Madia. Going inside, we find Brahmi Vidya Ashram building on the right side. There is an office in front. Going inside, we see a Jain temple with a calm and clean environment, where there is a Chaudhary Digambar Jain temple and further ahead, Nandishwar Deep has been beautifully created. On going to the beautiful gardens and mountains, we get to see temples and many natural views. There is a very good arrangement for staying, beautiful clean Dharamshalas, AC and non-AC rooms, good water arrangements, the arrangement of the restaurant for food is very good. Going outside the gate, we will easily find Aadar Bhojanalaya shop.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
