If you're visiting Ghatsila, then Burudi Lake is a must-stop spot. Here's my detailed impression:
👍 What I liked
Burudi Lake is among the prime attractions in the region — the man-made lake (formed by the nearby dam) sits nestled against green hills and offers a peaceful ambience.
The drive to the lake is interesting: you go through village areas, rural lanes and scenic surroundings — it adds to the charm.
Ample parking space is available for visitors — so you don’t have to worry too much about finding a spot for your vehicle.
There is a road that goes straight (or fairly straight) towards the dam / lake area — from where you get a clear view of the lake & dam.
Beside the lake there are food-stalls (simple but decent) situated just near the parking area.
At those food stalls the lake’s breeze is quite strong and pleasant — makes the meal by the water even nicer.
In the food stalls you can get proper meals (not just snacks) so it's convenient for a family or full meal out.
All in all, for anyone visiting Ghatsila, this is a very good place to include for a half-day outing or a picnic.
⚠️ A few things to keep in mind / minor drawbacks
Because you pass through village roads, the drive requires care: the road may be narrow or un-straightforward in places, and you’ll need to co-operate with other drivers (give way, slow down) to keep things safe.
While parking is ample, shade is mostly lacking: except for one food-stop area, there are very few shaded spots around the parking/food-stalls. If you visit midday in hot weather, you might feel the heat.
The food-stall area is good, but it’s basic — don’t expect luxury dining.
If you’re planning to stay long or visit during peak hours, arriving early may help avoid crowds (especially on weekends/holidays).
✅ Final thoughts

This natural, charming freshwater beauty has been an inspiration for several writers and its extensive exquisiteness has been explained in their poems and writings. During your visit to the lake, the mesmerising emerald view will reveal to you the inspiration that it provides the poets. The burudi lake is very big lake and very attractive. Read moreMost beautiful place in ghatshila. A huge lake is surrounded by green hills. The water of the lake is clean and clear. We go there by driving our Alto. It's approximately 30 minutes drive from highway. The road condition is very poor. Not at all suitable for auto and small cars and if you are in bike or two wheeler then you have to face lots of dust and pollution. They charged Rs. 30/- for parking. No dedicated parking place available. You have to park by road side or in front of food stalls. There is another narrow road which will take you to the opposite side of the lake which is much less touched by tourists . There are picnic spot side by, so there is huge littering around the lake, which destroys the natural beauty of the place. No toilet available so it may be a problem for ladies. One covered place is being used as ladies toilet but I think it's better to avoid that . Food is the main plus point of the place. You can have the deshi murgi (chicken) thali at very low price here. We tested the deshi murgi thali @Rs. 200/- per person. Test also good. But they will take approximately one hour for cooking the chicken. So it's better to order the food first and then go to explore the area and then come back and try the food. Almost everyone is having lunch there. There is an waterfall nearby named Dharagiri falls. You may go there by car. But car will upto certain distance the you need to walk. Overall it's a nice place. Despite of some negetive point everyone must visit there if you are planning to go...
