Dobo Dam, also known as Satnala Dam, is located in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India. It's a popular spot for those seeking a peaceful retreat from city life and is known for its natural beauty. One of the better experiences around Jamshedpur.

A good enough drive leads to this dam, with a narrow 1 km or so long concrete and almost single lane road leading right upto the place. No dedicated parking spot, so you will have to park on the narrow lane itself as far as the car and traffic allows. This also implies that there is no dedicated place to make a U turn yet, so you’ll have to back up your car quite a bit to find a decent enough spot to make the turn.

That said, the place itself is good and offers some nice scenic views of clean water bodies, the damn itself and surrounding mid size mountains. If you have a kid, you can also take a stroller all the way up as the road is made of concrete (there are rail blockings, but you can easily take the stroller over them as a couple).

You can easily spend upto an hour here, with friends or family and take some great portraits.

If you need snacks and water, its best to take your own as you wouldn’t find any good shops there, barring a few street side vendors who are not upto the mark.

Overall, will recommend this place as a good option for a drive...

It's close to the main city. There are two ways to go there. One through the Sonari bridge and the second go-around Xavier's school. Avoid taking Xavier's road at the time of monsoon because there isn't any pakka road and small pebbles and mud are waiting for your bike. 😁 In winter take an extra jacket for yourself because after 3 pm temperature drop drastically there. There aren't any food options available, no shops or anything. Pack your food(and do not use plastic) There is a small cliff-like structure (mountain) beside the lake if you wanna hike then be careful rocks are slippery because of dust. Lake is pretty deep so if you can't swim then do not enter into the water. If you enjoy fishing then go there with a fishing line there are a lot of fish in the water. Cellphone networks are weak. Specially 4g. But you'll get 2g network. Sorry for...

Location: At the outskirts. Roads are simply made. Very narrow if you visit via four wheelers. No proper Signs for the location. Simply dependent on the grren subarnarekha board at the road joining the highway. Food: Some snacks. Jhal muri, sugarcane juice, ice creams. View: Good and clean. Clean because civilized humans aren't appearing. Water is stagnant so it's stinking. But it's fine. Safety and security. Nothing. Everything is mentioned but no one cares. Whether you go down and touch water or whatever. Anyways. It's a good place for leisure. You can enjoy the bucolic views. Bring some snacks and tea and enjoy the serenity of the place. But do not litter as you did at other dams. 🙂

Good place for adventure and hangout/picnic, very close to city unlike other dams, but people are spoiling the place, littering wastes everywhere so it's a request please take your waste with you and dump them in proper dustbin and not pollute the place! I didn't include their pictures for privacy purposes nor I wanted to post pictures emphasizing pollution but please take care of nature guys! You can see some bits in the pictures if you look close enough.
