Established in the 1980s, the zoological park became famous for its rare collection of big cats such as White Tigers and Asiatic Lions but due to lack of adequate infrastructure some of them had to be moved to zoos in other parts of the world. Situated around 12 km from the city centre stablished in the 1980s and it is situated 2km from the city centre. The zoo houses many amazing species of animals and plants and is a truly fascinating place to visit for adults and children alike. It also has a toy train and boating facility available in its artificial lake.

Regular rail and bus services ply to and fro the city of Bokaro Steel City, buses being operated both by private and government owners, especially the Jharkhand State Road Transport Corporation. There is no direct flight connectivity, however, to Bokaro Steel City. Stepping Back in Time at Jawaharlal Nehru Biological Park: A Nostalgic Nature Adventure

Ah, the scent of popcorn mingling with the squawk of parrots instantly transports me back to childhood. This park holds a special place in my heart, filled with memories of wide-eyed wonder as I encountered creatures from all corners of the globe.

The park itself hasn't changed much over the years, and that's part of its charm. The familiar pathways, the iconic aviary with its cacophony of color, and the mischievous monkeys swinging in their enclosure all spark a delightful wave of nostalgia.

It's more than just reliving childhood memories, though. The park continues to do a fantastic job of showcasing the wonders of the animal kingdom. The well-maintained exhibits allow for close encounters (without feeling intrusive) with majestic tigers, playful otters, and even the occasional grumpy-looking rhinoceros.

Of course, some things have improved. The educational talks are more interactive now, perfect for sparking curiosity in a new generation of young explorers. And the addition of a nature trail with informative plaques adds a whole new dimension to the experience.

It isn't just a place to see animals; it's a place to create memories. Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or a wide-eyed child experiencing it for the first time, this park offers a delightful escape into the natural world. So grab a bag of popcorn (a must-do!), put on your walking shoes, and prepare to be transported to a world of wonder (and maybe a few happy tears)...

I visited the zoo with my family last weekend and I was disappointed by the experience. The zoo was poorly maintained and had very few animals to see. Most of the cages were empty or had only some birds in them. There was no sign of any lions, tigers, elephants, or other exotic animals that you would expect to see in a zoo. The birds were also not very interesting, mostly pigeons and crows. The only attraction that was somewhat enjoyable was the aquarium, which had some colorful fish and turtles. However, the water was murky and the glass was dirty, so it was hard to see them clearly. The zoo also lacked any facilities for visitors, such as restrooms, cafes, or souvenir shops. There was no shade or seating area to relax and enjoy the view. The staff was rude and unhelpful, and did not seem to care about the animals or the guests. The tickets were expensive and not worth the money. I would not recommend this zoo to anyone who wants to have a fun and educational day out with their family. It is a waste of time and resources. This place could be better if the people would complain about it.

Cleanliness was average.. Firstly you have to go through checking at gate so that you do not carry any food material for animals.. We were not happy to see how animals were kept there..firstly they don't feed them properly.. Second if you see few animals you can't predict they are dead or alive for example crocodile there was still for so long with a lot of dirt on it's back and also it's space / pond was so dirty ..we went to snake house and we were scared for our lives ..few of the glass Windows were totally broken or some were having cracks even with snakes in it.. Also Python was not kept in glass container instead it was kept in cages like other animals with a small wooden gate and some wirings in it..boys coming there was literally taking it way too far by challenging it again and again and it was so angry we were so afraid by the loud sound it was making.. But between all this no official came there to take care of it ..overall it was very exhausting in the end.

One time visit place. There is not much to see. Very unhygienic park. Cages were damaged. This park needs maintenance. There were swings for children but most of them were broken. Like all the other parks Indian adults/couples have made this another lover's point. Animals you can see here are- 2 tigers, 1 hippo , 2 ajgar , 2 bear, couple of peacocks, 2 ostrich and a lot of deers. And some monkeys. Most of the animals are not well. # after roaming here you can visit jagannath temple, which is located opposite this park. I wish there were more animals but what can you expect from this poorly maintained park. There were hundreds of snake bills, be careful with your children. There is a paid parking area. And outside of this you can have icecream stalls and puchka stalls. Cleanliness ⭐⭐ Swings ⭐⭐ Animals ⭐⭐ Maintanence⭐ Experience⭐⭐✌️ #bokaro #zoo #jharkhand.
