Millenium Park is the residents of Telco Colony now have another green zone to walk, run, play and spend good time. Cyrus Mistry, Chairman, Tata Sons who is in the city to celebrate the founder’s day, inaugurated the Millennium Park on Saturday, March 2. Also present during the occasion were A B Lall, Plant Head – Tata Motors, Jamshedpur, T V Narendran, MD Tata Steel and other senior executives of Tata group. The park is a Tribute from Tata Motors to the vision of the founder Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata on his 175th Birth Anniversary. The foundation of the park was laid on the occasion of the 2 millionth vehicle roll out from Jamshedpur Plant last year and was dedicated to the residents of the colony. The park is spread across in about 3.2 acres and fulfils the need of all age groups. The park has a children’s corner with slides and a unique skating rink. Children would love the green ground for sure. For elders it has jogging track of 500m with separate areas for exercise, yoga, meditation and relaxation. The natural gradient of the land has not been altered and infact was used to make it picturesque. Plants with medicinal values have been planted. Trees such as Peepal, Banyan, Jamun etc. have been planted to attract the birds. The beauty of the park is further enhanced by different types of floral plants, 3 fountains and a water-fall which recycles water from the rain water collection area. Read moreLocated adjacent to my residence, this is perfect place for my Kids for evening walk. It’s neat & clean park which is maintained by Tata Motors. This suits for all age group of people be it 80 years or of toddlers. Walking track is around 500 metres in circumference which make this ideal place for joggers. Be it morning or evening the places looks full of people doing there workout , yoga 🧘♂️ or pranayam. 3 Fountains at evening makes this place pleasant. Due to lockdown the park is closed since March-20 but we are expecting to get it open by mid of October for general public with social distancing guidelines. By doing so we can take sun bath in the park in sporting winter 😊 The park is tribute to the founder Jamshed ji tata Sahab on his 175th birth ceremony. Inaugurated by Mr Cyrus mistry on 3rd March 2014. The board at the front of the gate reads. Parking space & toilets are also available at side which makes the place friendly for family. You will find 2 security guard always here & at time you will find 2 cobra jawan also here patrolling around. So safety is not an issue.
