This is Padma Gate, the entrance to the palace. Built by Maharaja Raj Narayan Singh in 1344. It was rebuilt by his descendants. The inscriptions are worn out. Both in Hindi and English. Walked 2kms on this road. It used to be the grounds of the palace. Reached the palace. It's abandoned and desolate. Intricate carvings on the arches.. ....walls ....and pillars. The corridor. Entry to the palace. The niches on the walls. They are worn out. The rear corridor. The King had imported an electric generator from England and it was one of the first palaces in India to have electricity. There was apparently a movie theatre also upstairs. In the early 1900's the King had 1000 imported cars. Saw this Chhatri (cenotaph) but did not know how to go there. Finally figured out a way. I don't know whose cenotaph it is. There is an abandoned pond with steps leading down to it. Sad that the whole place is abandoned.

Hazaribagh has been a historical area. Here Raja Bagh Dev Singh used to rule, which is related to Ramgarh Raj. Their rule started here from the time of Raja Bagh Dev. Presently Saurabh Narayan Singh is the successor. The history of this historical area has turned into ruins but there are some rare pictures which still attract people. People come from far and wide to see whom. झारखंड के हजारीबाग जिले को अपने गौरवशाली अतीत पर गुमान है. उन्हीं में से एक पदमा किला भी है. ये रामगढ़ के राजा का किला था, यहां रामगढ़ राजा की हुकूमत चलती थी. रामगढ़ राजा के उत्तराधिकारी राजा बागदेव सिंह हजारीबाग में राज किया करते थे. जिसे आज पद्मा राजघराना के नाम से जाना जाता है. वर्तमान में पूर्व विधायक सौरभ नारायण सिंह इनके उत्तराधिकारी हैं. लेकिन अब देखभाल के अभाव में यह धरोहर अपनी पहचान खोती जा रही है. वैसे तो इस ऐतिहासिक क्षेत्र का इतिहास खंडहरों में तब्दील हो गया है लेकिन कुछ दुर्लभ तस्वीर है जो इस क्षेत्र के इतिहास को बयां करती है. राजा बाग देव सिंह की तस्वीर ये भी पढ़ें- मैं हूं पदमा किला, धूमिल हो रही हैं मेरी गौरवशाली यादें हवा महल लोगों को करता है आकर्षित दरअसल, टूटी फूटी दीवारें इसकी पहचान है. हवा महल आज भी लोगों को आकर्षित करता है. हवा महल के अंदर एक कमरा है. उस कमरे में कुछ दुर्लभ तस्वीर इस राजघराने की है. जहां रामगढ़ राजा के उत्तराधिकारियों के नाम भी अंकित हैं. 1366 से लेकर 1403 तक राजा बाग देव सिंह ने यहां राज किया. देखें स्पेशल रिपोर्ट जानें राजा बागदेव सिंह की वंशावली राजा बाग देव सिंह के बाद राजा करेत सिंह, राजा राम सिंह, राजा माधो सिंह, राजा जुगत सिंह, राजा हरमीत सिंह, राजा दलेतल सिंह, राजा विसुन सिंह, राजा मुकुंद सिंह, राजा तेज सिंह, पदेश नाथ सिंह, राजा मणि नाथ सिंह, राजा सिद्धार्थ नाथ सिंह, राजा लक्ष्मी नाथ सिंह ,राजा शंभू नाथ सिंह ,राजा रामनाथ सिंह ,राजा नम नारायण सिंह, राजा राम नारायण सिंह, राजा लक्ष्मी नारायण सिंह, राजा बहादुर कामाख्या नारायण सिंह, राजा बहादुर इंद्र जितेंद्र नारायण सिंह ने राज किया. वर्तमान सौरभ नारायण सिंह इनके वंशज हैं. राजघराने की दुर्लभ तस्वीरें हवा महल में क्या है रखा हवा महल के कमरे में इस परिवार की दुर्लभ तस्वीरें रखी हुई है. उस कमरे में किसी को जाने की इजाजत भी नहीं है. जहां राजा के पूरे परिवार की इतिहास गाथा कैद है. जहां कार्यक्रम के दौरान लिए गए तस्वीर भी रखी हुई है. जो इस राज्य की भव्यता के बारे में बताती है. इस राजघराने के पास अपना हेलीकॉप्टर भी हुआ करता था, जो समय बीतने के साथ-साथ अब दिखता भी नहीं है. जरूरत है इतिहास को संजो कर रखने की ताकि आने वाली पीढ़ी यहां की भव्यता और पराक्रम को जान सके.
