DESCRIPTION
The temple is located in the Karamadai village of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu and is 20 kilometers away from Mettupalayam.
HISTORY
It is believed that the group of Thottiyars people presided in the village of Karamadai. A cow of one of the group failed to drop milk all of a sudden. He found out that the cow was dropping milk at a plant. The people were enraged and cut down the bush, and they heard exploding sound along with the blood. Upon getting to know this incident, the other people in the village rushed to the place and found a 'Suyambu Lingam' that was present inside the bush and it was the one that was responsible for the cow to shed milk on the bush. The same night, God entered in the dream and enquired him to get adhered to the 'Lingam' using the 'Chandana Kaapu'. It is blindly believed that the idol of the Ranganathar Suyambu' increases in size on a yearly basis and is therefore respected with a great deed of devotion.
IMPORTANCE/SIGNIFICANCE
The temple is rooted on the soil that is giving more importance to the agriculture. One of the most important temple in the Kongu style and among the most worshipped temple in the South India. Among these rituals enriched tri-fold blessings of meaning to the location, theertham and the famous moorthy or the idol worship are significant. FACTS/MYTHOLOGY
A famous Shiva temple called as the Nanjundeswarar temple is also located nearby, built by Shaivas followers of Chola rulers. This temple is significant with its Tamil heritage with major fine arts works that has a good effect on the Tamil heritage. The temple is also meant for its architecture and holds the great importance of the oldest and the traditional temple. Karamadai is the farmers' market and is held all the Fridays in the week.

The architecture is stunning and the atmosphere is peaceful and serene. The temple offers a variety of activities and poojas for visitors to enjoy. We also had the opportunity to visit the nearby villages and experience the culture and hospitality of the locals. The temple is also well maintained and offers a great view of the surrounding areas. Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend visiting this temple with your family.
This temple was belived to be 1000 years old... Temple is heart of karamadai 8km from mettupalayam and 28km from coimbatore on the way to ooty... The history was Lord vishnu appeared at the karai trees in a form of suyambu and a cow started feeding milk on her own... Famous and more divine place in cbe.special and crowded in puratasi month Saturdays. Aranganathar looks very beautiful, hanuman idol inside the temple is good. Wait time will be around 2 to 3 hrs.
