Adumalleshwara Mini Zoo, located about 7 kilometers from Chitradurga town, offers visitors a modest yet enjoyable experience. Established in 1987, this 8.5-hectare zoo is nestled within the Jogimatti sanctuary and is managed by the Zoo Authority of Karnataka.

The zoo houses a variety of animals, including crocodiles, deer, leopards, and several bird species. While the collection is limited, the facility provides a pleasant environment for a short visit, especially for families with children. The presence of a children's play area enhances its appeal as a picnic spot.

Adjacent to the zoo is the Adumalleshwara Temple, a cave temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. A notable feature of the temple is a perennial stream that flows through the mouth of a Nandi statue, adding to the site's charm.

Visitors should note that amenities around the zoo are limited, so it's advisable to carry water and snacks. The zoo operates from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with Tuesdays being a holiday.

In summary, Adumalleshwara Mini Zoo, combined with the temple visit, offers a serene and educational outing, particularly suitable for families seeking a brief escape into nature and...

Adumalleshwara Zoo is a small but charming zoological park located at the foot of Jogimatti Hills in Chitradurga. It’s a great place for families, especially those with children, to explore and learn about local wildlife. The zoo houses a few species like deer, rabbits, monkeys, peacocks, and other birds. While not a large-scale zoo, it is well-maintained and peaceful.

What makes this zoo unique is its natural setting — surrounded by dense greenery and nestled in a calm, forest-like environment. Visitors often combine it with a trip to Jogimatti Forest or the nearby temple. There’s a small pond and sitting areas that make it suitable for short, relaxing visits.

The entry fee is minimal, and parking is usually not a problem. The zoo is managed by the forest department, and while facilities are basic, the experience is refreshing. It’s not commercialized, which adds to its charm.

Visit in the morning or late afternoon for the best weather. Remember to follow zoo guidelines and avoid feeding animals. If you're in Chitradurga, this zoo offers a peaceful hour or two amidst nature — ideal for kids, casual tourists, or anyone seeking a...

This is a small zoo situated in Chitradurga - Jogimatti road. Entry fee at main road towards zoo is 10rs per vehicle. After that before entering into zoo you will have to pay another 30rs per head as entry fees. You will get to see some peacocks, cocks, bear, birds, leopard, jackal, crocodile, turtle, deer, python etc... Area is not that well maintained and cleanliness is not that good. Whenever you visit pls carry your waste bottles and wrappers along with you. There is a small canteen where you can get chips, tea, bhajji, water bottles and soft drinks. There are some rides for under 14 kids. Kids will really enjoy it. Overall this place is...

A mini zoo, not having too many animals or birds. I would recommend it only when you have time and kids in your party. In a dry land, they tried with some green lush which is highly appreciated. They are trying their best to attract visitors with more and more animals, like this 26th Feb the tiger is also coming to the zoo. Entrance fee is 30rs only, but you feel for a mini zoo like this it's OK. Do not expect too much animals here, some turkeys, tortoises, peafowl, emu, leopard, jackal, python, crocodile to count. There is a small cafeteria to get refreshment, the nearby children play area can be useful for young ones.
