⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5
I visited Abbey Falls, located in Madikeri, Kodagu (Coorg), Karnataka, and it’s truly one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the state! If you’re visiting Coorg, this is definitely a must-see.
📍 The falls are located near Rajaji Seat and are easy to reach. We went with family and took the direct road, but there are also trekking routes for adventure lovers. There’s even zip-lining available nearby for thrill-seekers (we didn’t try it, but it looked exciting!).
💰 Entry is very affordable – ₹10 per person, and children under 10 enter free. Parking is free and plentiful right outside the falls.
🛤️ From the entrance, you’ll walk about 500–800 meters of stairs through lush greenery to reach the viewing area. Going down is easy, but coming back up may be tiring for seniors or little kids. However, the view at the end makes it all worth it – the waterfall is huge, powerful, and breathtakingly beautiful.
🚫 Swimming or bathing is not allowed due to the strong water current, so this is mainly a viewpoint attraction. There’s also a wooden viewing deck built by the government, perfect for photography and enjoying the falls safely.
🍴 Around the entrance, there are small shops selling snacks, Maggi, coconut water, and light refreshments – perfect for a quick bite before or after your visit.
🌿 The path is surrounded by dense greenery, forest views, and birdsong, creating a calm and refreshing vibe. The only downside is that it can get crowded on weekends, so you may have to wait a few minutes for clear photos.
⏳ Overall, this is a quick yet rewarding stop – spend around 20–30 minutes here, enjoy the natural beauty, take in the peaceful atmosphere, and click some amazing pictures. Highly recommended for nature lovers and families...
