We were a group of 5. Found this falls in Google maps while on a trip to madikeri. Well enjoyed off-the itinerary diversion. Finding the way to get near basement of water falls may be difficult. Surprised to find the path traverses through "private land" in middle of forest . We found the path was even fenced with barbed wire. Still we found the falls too resisting to turn back. We maneuvered ourselves in. We were gonna ask permission from owner whom we strangely never encountered. We only found few workers and a small bungalow being constructed on the way (now we were clear this place would be converted to a homestay). We finally saw the falls after walking about 100 meters off the road. Needless to say we encountered not a single person near the falls. Took ourselves few pics and enjoyed the beauty with full privacy. The track to the falls is well laid out, we also encountered logs being tied as a bridge to cross a stream in the way. We successfully finished a good side quest before continuing on the...
Read moreAbbhimatta Falls is truly a hidden gem—peaceful, stunning, and surrounded by untouched nature. Every angle offers a beautiful view, and you’ll hardly come across the usual tourist crowds.
What did feel disappointing, though, was spotting trash in a few areas—plastic bottles, alcohol bottles, wrappers and so on. The spot is looked after by a couple of locals from Abbi Matta. We informed them about the litter, and they mentioned that things have improved compared to before and that they’ve even put up a gate to manage it better.

It’s good that someone is looking after the falls, but honestly, for the amount they’re charging, the maintenance should be a lot better. Visitors shouldn’t have to deal with trash while still paying premium rates. The least they can do is ensure the place is kept clean. Please do encourage them to clean up the place when you...
