The Narasimha Jhira Cave Temple is famous for its astounding structure and is known to be holy. The temple is located in the cave wherein the water is said to flow at about 300 meters approximately. The Temple is located in the hill ranges of Manichoola and opens for the general public at 08.00 o'clock in the morning. Bidar is situated in North Karnataka; this temple is a kilometer distant from the Bidar city. One has to endeavor through the intense water to make it to the lord. The temple is dedicated to the invincibly powerful God Narasimha, and is also referred to as the Jharani Narasimha Temple & the Narasimha Zarna Cave temple. Each year, thousands of people come to the temple to have their wishes fulfiled. This holy temple is situated inside a cave. Devotees who want to visit the cave temple can opt for air, rail or road travel. The temple is operational between 07.00 in the morning to 01.00 in the afternoon.

HISTORY

According to the mythology of this temple, Narasimha Jhira, the great lord, first destroyed Hiranyakashipu & further proceeded to kill demon Jalasura who was known to be a loyal devotee of God Shiva. Lord Narasimha, after killing the demon took the form of water & started flowing towards Lord Shiva. This is why people need to literally strive its way to get the blessings of Lord. There are arrangements which were made recently to make sure that there is proper ventilation and electricity. Everyone has to bathe with the water outside the temple. There are two deities that are located at the end of the cave namely, a Shiva Linga, which was worshiped by the demon Jalasura & Lord Narasimha. Due to little space over here, only 8 people can take darshan while the others actually have to wait in the water. People gather in this temple with the idea that the deity at Narasimha Jhira Cave is, in itself swayambhu roopam, meaning, the deity is self established & it is powerful. He is believed to be the 4th birth of Lord Vishnu and is semi lion...

The lord of this temple Narasimha Swamy, fourth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, stayed inside a cave (present temple) after defeating a demon named Jharasura. Devotees should walk about 300m to 400m inside water of height 4ft to 5ft to reach inside the cave and have dharshan of Swamy.

How to travel:- The temple is 6.3KM from Bidar bus stop. We took the auto (fare was Rs.100) from bus stop to temple. I have heard from a tea-wala that, there are buses also from bus-stop. Overall, you can reach the temple in less than 30mins. Timings:- 9AM to 5PM.

Dressing room:- As devotees get drenched inside the cave, all devotees will change their dresses prior or after the darshan. I have observed there are dressing rooms available for ladies. Don't know how much neat they are. Unfortunately, there are no dressing rooms for Gents.

Temple darshan ticket/cloak room :- You have to take ticket for entry into temple. Priced about Rs.10/- per person. There are separate tickets for different pooja's etc. Cloak room also is a paid one. We have kept all our items mobile phones, camera, etc inside cloak room.

Food:- There are no nearby good hotels there. It is surrounded by empty forest area. Better reach near bus stop or other place...

Visiting the Veer Narasimha temple is an extraordinary experience that transcends the ordinary. The journey to have darshanam of Lord Veer Narasimha is unique and memorable, as it involves traveling through a cave filled with water up to chest level. This immersive experience is not just about the physical journey but also a spiritual one that deeply connects you to the divine. As you wade through the cool, sacred waters of the cave, there is an overwhelming sense of purification and renewal. Each step feels like a step closer to spiritual cleansing, and the ambiance of the cave adds to the mystic and serene atmosphere. The water, believed to have purifying properties, enhances the sense of devotion and reverence. Upon reaching the sanctum, taking a dip in the holy water is an act of purification for both the body and soul. Offering prayers in this sacred environment, surrounded by fellow devotees, elevates the sense of satisfaction and spiritual fulfillment to the next level. The entire experience is one of devotion, humility, and deep spiritual connection. It's a journey that not only provides a sense of accomplishment but also leaves you with a profound sense of peace and contentment. This unique pilgrimage to the Veer Narasimha temple is truly a soul-stirring experience that every devotee should undertake at least once in their lifetime.

Nearly 100 km from Hyderabad. Roads are good 👍. From zaheerabad it's about 28 kms and slightly bad road but ok. About the temple it's a unique place with lord narasimha swamy seen in Pleasant form of Diya or almond shape. At the entrance we have lord Ganesha whom we pray first . Pathala or jala narasimha swamy is inside a cave where water keeps flowing out continuously from the lord's feet. To his idols left side we can see lord Shiva and his nandi . From the entrance of the temple to the main idol we have to walk in chest deep water for about 100 mts which takes 5 to 10 min. Take a holy dip . Need not worry about the depth . Young kids must be carried in ur arms or over the shoulder. Take your phone and money in a waterproof polythene cover so that it won't get wet. Men / boys better to wear dhoti and baniyan . Keep chanting lords name which makes the water walk Easy.🙏🏻. Overall experience was good. There are no hotels or lodges. Better to take home made food for lunch and snacks. Kids will enjoy. Better to go early morning and reach by 8 am . On weekends there is heavy rush. On weekdays very less crowd. We have to take 10 rupees per person darshan ticket. Good Enough place for parking vehicles. Main pujari says that their family has been serving the lord since 11 generations🙏🏻 Paathala laxmi narasimha swamy ki jai🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻..
