BUDDHISIM
Buddhists believe that human life is a cycle of suffering and rebirth, but that if one achieves a state of enlightenment (nirvana), it is possible to escape this cycle forever. Siddhartha Gautama was the first person to reach this state of enlightenment and was, and is still today, known as the Buddha.
Three Universal Truths of Buddhism
Everything in life is impermanent and always changing.
Because nothing is permanent, a life based on possessing things or persons doesn't make you happy.
There is no eternal, unchanging soul and "self" is just a collection of changing characteristics or attributes
The Five Precepts of Buddhism
Refrain from taking life. Not killing any living being. ...
Refrain from taking what is not given. Not stealing from anyone.
Refrain from the misuse of the senses. Not having too much sensual pleasure. ...
Refrain from wrong speech. ...
Refrain from intoxicants that cloud the mind.

The experience of visiting the place was very different..in that there was this silence that was kind of maintained in most areas of the complex which is nice considering crowds can be noisy. From the entry gate to the temple and return is quite a distance to cover; you will notice how very well maintained and clean the whole complex is..At the Vihar, you will get the Darshan of a calm and life like statue of the great Buddha seated on a beautifully carved lotus design about 6 ft tall..felt like I was watching Buddha as if He were alive..such an amazing experience..The large Vihar structure is awesome in white especially massive dome and same for the interiors of the Vihar.. many of the big doors are made of rose and some even in teak wood!! The entire complex has a lot of greenery ..most of landscape is gardens and many sections have varieties of flowers, fruit trees..totally worth a visit if you happen to visit Gulbarga..got the chance a couple of years back when I had to visit this city for a...
