As someone who truly admires Dr. Vishnuvardhan and his immense contribution to Kannada cinema, visiting his memorial was something I looked forward to. However, the experience was underwhelming and disappointing.

The location itself is almost 15 km from Mysore city, yet there are no proper signboards or clear directions leading to the place. The approach road is poorly maintained, and it feels like very little effort was made in planning the memorial site.

Sadly, the entire memorial gives the impression that it was built just for formality's sake — as if they had to do something, so they did it, without real passion or dedication to truly honor such a legendary figure. Even the idol of Dr. Vishnuvardhan, in today’s age of advanced sculpting and design, lacks quality and finesse. It doesn’t do justice to his legacy.

There was a huge opportunity to make this a rich and memorable tribute — a space that could walk visitors through his incredible film journey, showcasing his awards, landmark films, and the deep impact he had on the Kannada film industry. While some of his photographs, personal collections, and books are displayed, it still feels unorganized and far from the tribute a legend like...
