Durga village is a hilly terrain, a little away from Karkala. As you approach the little hamlet in the lap of the Western Ghats, the vegetation turns thicker. Durga Waterfall, on the course of River Swarna that originates in the Western Ghat, is one of the magnets that attracts nature lovers and revelers alike to the village. On its course downstream, Swarna flows through a vast rugged rock expanse, offering a visual delight in the monsoon and the ensuing few months. Popularly known as Durga Falls, it in fact is not a waterfall, but the water surges on those rocks with force. Nonetheless, the charm is no less. 〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰 HUMBLE REQUEST, DO NOT THROW THE PLASTIC, BOTTLES AND OTHER GARBAGE. TRY TO KEEP THE NATURE CLEAR AND CLEAN... JUST ENJOY THE BEAUTY OF...

It's an overflowing stream flowing beside a small narrow side road. The rocks are formed in a way, where the water flowing over it creates a rumbling sound transforming it into a cascading waterfall...😍😍

The route to the place is accurate, just go on with the directions on the map. We can sit over the rock and enjoy a pleasant view.

It's a flowing stream with great force, so be careful when stepping into the water as it's slippery. One wrong step and you would be tumbling below 😕 hitting all over the rocks.

I suggest dont bring small naughty kids here 😁 even if you get one just make sure they wont wander here and there.

Orelse its a peaceful...place to sit and enjoy the serene...

The stream experiences a strong current during the monsoon season, transforming into a powerful force of nature that captivates all who encounter it. As the rains pour down, the water swells and rushes with an intensity that can be both awe-inspiring and intimidating. At a specific location along its winding path, the stream navigates through a series of significant boulders, which have been shaped and smoothed over time by the relentless flow of water. These boulders create natural obstacles that the water must maneuver around, resulting in a dynamic interplay of splashes and eddies that add to the stream's...

Durga Falls is located in Durga village, a few KM away from the town of Karkala. The road leading to the Falls from the town is beautiful, ornated with tall green trees on either sides. River Swarna that originates in the Western Ghats, flows downstream through vast rugged rocks, offering a magnificent view in the monsoon. The road is adjacent to the falls and parking can be done at any side of the road. Elevated rocks are ideal spots to sit and soak in the beauty of the falls. There is a small enclosure near the bank to perform post death rituals. It is best ti visit during monsoon season.
