Most pathetic experience in Coorg During our visit to this glass bridge in Coorg, our excitement quickly turned into disappointment. Upon reaching what we believed was the main attraction, we were greeted with a signboard. To our surprise, it wasn't the destination but merely a parking area. Visitors are then obligated to use the attraction's transportation, even though the actual bridge is a mere 1.5 km away, easily accessible by any vehicle. The parking charges felt unnecessarily costly: ₹150 for cars and ₹50 for bikes ! Especially considering the activity's short duration, lasting only about 30 minutes. And it's non-refundable. Even more unclear was the rule that visitors could obtain a bridge entry ticket only if they have a parking receipt, regardless of whether they chose to park or not..lol Despite these red flags, our group decided to proceed. The bridge entry fee was ₹200 per person. However, another hurdle awaited: the bridge could only accommodate 6 individuals at a time, with each session spanning 15 minutes. Given this limitation, if 25 people were ahead of us, the wait would stretch beyond an hour. Fortunately, we asked them how long will it take for us to enter prior to buying the entry ticket, and they informed that our wait would exceed 2 hours ! Realising the inefficiency and impracticality of the management , we decided to get out. We got back to our parking space, and we could see other disappointed visitors, some of whom had paid for parking but chose not to proceed due to the excessive wait times, just like us. We saw that a family approached the parking attendants, expressing their concerns about the prolonged wait at the bridge. They inquired if they could return later in the day using the same parking ticket. Unfortunately, they were denied. How can they rob people like this ! Having visited similar attractions before in other places , where the bridges were taller, more aesthetically pleasing, and managed with better efficiency, this one in Coorg was the worst. It didn't offer the same majestic views nor the seamless visitor experience. Even if one overlooks the monetary aspects, the mismanagement of time and resources was evident. A more efficient queuing system, shorter session times, and a revised fee structure could have improved the overall experience. Poor management and inflated charges, it's the worst experience in Coorg for sure. My rating would be a mere 1 star, only because google map doesn't provide a 0-star rating.

The Glass Bridge near Madikeri—fondly known as “Pappy’s Bridge of Coorg”—stands like a bold ribbon of transparency hovering over emerald Western Ghats. Rising about 78 feet high and stretching nearly 32 metres long while just 2 metres wide, this skywalk feels both breathtaking and playful at once . The moment one steps onto the tempered glass floor, heartbeats speed up—not out of danger, but from sheer exhilaration—thanks to a view that stretches across lush valleys, misty hills, and coffee-clad slopes that seem to breathe beneath your feet . It's that rare blend where a little fear meets fascination in the best way possible.

Families find it just as captivating and comfortable—the carefully regulated entry, clear signage that children under five shouldn’t walk on it, and staff help make the experience inclusive and safe . There are convenient parking choices too—one nearer to the bridge charging around ₹50 for cars, another farther away charging ₹150 but offering free shuttle service for ease .

One should time the visit between 8:30 AM and 6:30 PM for the best light, and a 10-minute walk across the glass is the perfect window—not too brief, yet just enough to soak in the view without feeling rushed . It’s easy to imagine families taking turns, children giggling as they test the “magic” beneath their feet, while elders enjoy the vistas with a hint of awe and belonging.

That said, nature can be unpredictable. Heavy rains have raised concerns about landslide risks in Kodagu, and officials have, at times, temporarily halted access to the bridge for safety inspections . Still, these measures speak to the area’s respect for both its visitors and fragile ecosystem.

In essence, the Glass Bridge is a shimmering thread of excitement weaving through Coorg’s forested hills—perfect for families looking to sprinkle a little daring into their scenic getaway, all while surrounded by deep green landscapes and mindful of...
