The good: Great trail - the vegetation and terrain keeps changing and keeps one occupied. I've climbed this twice - both times through completely different routes Great view of the jungle, the hills around and the civilization below (if not hidden by mist). The trail takes you through grassy areas, rocky ones, fragrant eucalyptus jungle, thorny shrubs and what not :) Good flat rocky area on the top to relax and camp if needed On a clear day during my first hike (ie not during rains or cloudy days) i got to experience one of the most beautiful sunrise I've ever seen!
Keep in mind: Moderate level climb, novice hikers should be careful - mainly because it is easy to lose the trail. The terrain is such that you can hike throught the rocky flats or thr jungle but only if one doesn't panic Broken booze bottles have started appearing at spots - the bad side of humanity :( Not much wind cover at the flat plateau-like top - no caves or dense trees and it is a gentle convex top,so make sure to take ur...
Read moreI hiked HB on a weekday recently and in the entire hill range I was all alone. Wasn't scary. Trek trail has been engulfed by thick grown shrubs and grass at some places, making the trail difficult to identify. Due to this, I lost way on my descent and after much difficulty, could hit the right trail back again. It's nice up at the top and all along. Major neighborhood hills - Nandi, Chennagiri, Skandagkri, and Kaurava Konda a bit away, all present beautiful view. Filled up lakes and ponds in the vicinity add to the beauty of the top views. Shani temple at the top needs a bit of searching but has a trail. There seem to be multiple trek routes; I followed the longest one and the most visible. It's quite long though not difficult one. Good to go prepared with sufficient water and food. Footfalls seem to be quite less in this hill. Hope trekkers keep the hill clean without littering. You can park car/bike at the starting point; but this spot sucks...so much litter and liquor...
Read moreIt was a great experience! The place is clean, with no plastic or waste along the trekking path. The hill trek is a bit challenging, and there are two routes to reach the top — one is shorter but quite steep and difficult, while the other is longer yet easier to climb. Both routes are clearly visible on maps.
The view from the top is amazing, and the overall scenery throughout the trek is beautiful. There are no shops along the way, so make sure to carry enough water and snacks with you. If you’re planning to visit, please avoid leaving any plastic waste behind to help keep the place clean.
Car parking is available near the...
