Kadaramandalagi is a village in the southern state of Karnataka, India. It is located in the Byadgi taluk of Haveri district in Karnataka. This place is famous for Kantesh Temple which attracts large number of devotes every year. HISTORY OF THE PLACE AND TEMPLES After the fall of the Vijayanagar Empire, Adilshahies took the power in the Northern part of Karnataka. Santebennur Kengappa Nayaka was under the province of Chandragutti. Kangappa Nayaka after worshipping Sri Hanuman of Kadarmandalagi was completely cured of his disease. Then he donated the village to the God, Kantesha. The inscription in front of the temple explains the generosity of Kengappa Nayaka. (It is also told that King Janamejaya set up the temple to get rid of his difficulties). During the period of Aurangzeb, Kadaramandalagi came under the rule of Savanur Nawab and Suhedar of Savanur gave lamps and decoration to the temple. Many rich patrons like Khanderaya of Savanur, Desai of Hanagal, Hanumanth Gowda of Havanur gave a lot of items of worships to the Temple being impressed by the ardent devotion of Sri Hire Acharya. During the British rule, the gifts and lands of the Temple were taken back. But faith and devotion of Sri Shesha Krishna Mamaledar made him set up a committee for proper administration of the Temple. The devotees come not only from the neighbouring districts but also from neighbouring States like Maharashtra, Telangana and Andra Pradesh from all castes and tribes.

The Kadarmandalgi Kanteshaswami (Hanuman) Temple near Ranebennur is an incredibly serene and spiritually uplifting place. Nestled amidst beautiful natural surroundings, the temple exudes peace and positive energy, making it an ideal spot for devotees and nature lovers alike. The idol of Lord Hanuman, worshipped here as Kanteshaswami, is mesmerizing and fills you with a sense of devotion and calm. The temple premises are clean, well-organized, and maintained with care, which adds to the overall experience. The priests and staff are warm and welcoming, performing rituals with devotion and ensuring that visitors feel connected to the divine. What makes this temple truly special is its peaceful ambiance. The gentle rustle of trees and the chirping of birds complement the spiritual vibe, making it an excellent place for meditation and reflection. For those visiting, I recommend coming in the early morning or evening hours to fully experience the tranquil atmosphere. The temple is easy to reach, with adequate parking and basic amenities available for visitors. If you’re looking for a place to deepen your spiritual journey or simply escape the chaos of daily life, the Kadarmandalgi Kanteshaswami (Hanuman) Temple is a must-visit. A hidden gem near Ranebennur, it offers both divine blessings and a connection to nature.
