Kandavara lake — Attraction in Karnataka

Lake covering a large area at Chikaballapur. There's enough walking trail around the lake but maintenance is not there. Parking is available on the roadside and you will have to climb steps to reach the lakeside. Currently the road next to lake is under maintenance and not in good condition but the route shown by Google maps is correct. It takes us through some village road for 1km but cars can easily manage. Lake doesn't seem to have any shelter so recommend to go early morning or evening. The road towards Nandi hills is good from here so recommend...

Beautiful lake at road side.

No entrance fees.

Road side parking available.

Good place to take scenic landscape photography or cinematic videos

Went with family enjoyed the sunset.

Please be extra careful when you take kids here as there is no fence so chances to slip of the clif and end up into lake.

Do not 🚯 the place.

Best time to visit is early morning for sun rise and during the sun set.

Lake is always open.

No management to take care off.

You can enjoy sunrise or sunset with a beautiful view of NandiHill and Skandagiri Hill in the backdrop. Ample parking.

If it's grape season you can see plenty grapes on your way to Nandi Hills.
